He was falling, but I believe he had just entered that insta-kill zone -before- you hit the ground. Hence his hat had fallen off. And I think that's his shotgun to the right. The health meter shown usually lags behind the actual health (or lack of it) on the player in killcams.

That comic is all wrong. The opening logo has Grissom, but the following panels are obviously the CSI: NY crew. And then they throw in Horatio from CSI: Miami's sun glasses thing at the end and screw that up, too. Horatio makes fun of dead people at the beginning of the investigation, not criminals after they've been caught. How hard is that to understand? This comic shows no respect for the CSI franchise, and I, for one, am mad as hell.

I still feel it necessary to point out how the most grotesquely oversized piece of fast food in the world is served at a place where they probably have to fend off locals trying to scam their way into beating the three hour challenge in order to keep their entire village from starving to death.

Imagine: A village of a hundred or so people stealthily running in and out of the restaurant one by one, each taking a small bite of the burger while trying to look like they're all the same guy. Or maybe they send in one guy who's trained his whole life to be able to choke down this meal that's actually bigger than he is, with the combined savings of the whole village to pay up front. And he swallows the burger like a python swallowing a hippo and staggers out the door, money in hand, smiling and waving to the villagers who're standing just off the propery, kept in check by guards with automatic weapons. He passes the cash (and the gift card) to his mother and then he explodes, showering everyone with barely-digested bits of burger and bread and blood mixed with coca-cola, which they lap up as reverently as they can manage while crying in desperate hunger. In the background fat tourists continue to line up for their own belt busters, trying not to look at the brown people and their weird customs.

Or maybe I have a misinformed out-of-date impression of Thailand as a third world country that it really isn't? I dunno. Maybe I should have done some research for this post.
