Not that every time I see "fail" slapped on a picture doesn't remind me of some occasions back in school when my classmates would stand in a circle around me and chant "F-E-L, F-E-L" for several minutes when I made some sort of mistake. (You can guess what that is in Swedish.) It does indicate a terrible causal disdain for the faults of other people, not to mention an eagerness to find them and point them out, none of which speaks well of you as a person.

But none of that bothers me as much as bad language. I guess it's up to every one of us to fight this trend, and take as active a part in shaping the language we speak as we care to. To wit:

He bounces back from anything you throw at him (not that much of anything ever hits) and just is so much less predictable that Popeye would probably have trouble keeping up.

Sonic can run a bit faster than the sound barrier - if the Advance and Rush games are any indication. Speedy is probably about as fast as Sonic. Flash runs at nearly the speed of light. I don't think he's taking bribes.
