So resulting from our long, long, looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong (long) discussion about spoiler tags we have some new forum features.

1. The standard [spoiler] tag and its conveniently shortened cousin [ss] have been adjusted so that in addition to a click revealing the spoiler, a second click re-hides the spoilertagged text.

Try it yourself! wordswordswords

2. We have the new [swap] tag which can be used for large spoilers or oversized images or FUCK YOU or whatever use you feel you have for it. To use it just type different words! and it will display as follows:

different words!

Clicking the blue-backed text will... follow this closely now... swap the text following the equal sign with the text between the tags. A second click will re-swap the text.

3. All on-page instances of either tag can be automatically cleared or re-applied by clicking the "Click here to hide"/"Click here to unhide" line at the top of the thread.

The first click will reveal all hidden text on the page, and your second click will auto-rehide all revealed text.

...Not text that's hidden by good ol' [color=#111111], though. You're on your own with that one.

We hope these new features will make for a more enjoyable and productive foruming experience for you, the NPF community.

I'm pretty sure that if you guys start nesting shit with this new tag that I will hate you all even more.

On the bright side, you can't swap an image with another image.

So there's a hassle you won't have to put up with in the future.

I actually have a legitimate reason to use your new tag in the near future, but I felt I'd better do this first just to punish you for not locking this thread.

You know, we still have that title tag, too. Had it for a while now. Just mentioning.

We have so many different ways of insulting each other passive-aggressively it's I HATE YOU ALL.

Isn't passive-aggressive what it is when you don't directly insult someone at all? This stuff with swap tags and titles just seems like a variation on the "X, if by X you mean Y" (where X is reasonable and Y is some terrible thing which is the opposite of X if it has anything to do with X at all) formula we all ripped off from Brian than actually passive-aggression.

Also: If someone does the nesting thing you can hit the quote button and it'll spit out the original code, thereby allowing you to read all the messages in one go. Presumably mods can just hit edit to get the same effect even quicker.

Yeah but that's a lot of bother to do every time someone uses a tag.

I figure I'll just assume nobody's doing anything awful with the tag until someone goes out of their way to bring my attention to someone doing awful with the tag and then tear them a new one, and then when that person is all "but you didn't when _________ did _________ with the tag!!!!" I can go look up what _________ did and tear them an even uglier new one.
