I signed up for it yesterday actually, because I've seen the ads for so long, I, like most I think, don't even know what the heck it's about.
Basically, you have a small kingdom. you click on a square and build, say, a cottage. then I assume you build other advanced buildings to further your kingdoms awesomeness or something. I dunno, it looked like that farm app on Facebook, aka boring.

Yeah, hit it during my time when I was hitting just about every free, browser based, online games. In it you try to build up a city, which will be your base to making other cities and eventually a kingdom. The game starts fast enough with early builds taking minutes, that can be skipped over to seconds, but as the game goes on you have to take into account that it will take days to complete the next build.

It gets old very fast, and as with most things the only real way to play like it is an actual game beyond the first day is to put money into it.

EDIT: Yeah the farm app comparison seems pretty good.

For what it's worth, Evony's advertising campaign is genius. The idea of an ad isn't necessarily to promote a product, but to draw a consumer to the product. I'd say all this chat is sufficient evidence that their plan has worked like a charm.

Not at all. Actually, I associate with a pretty wide variety of people. In high school, I had friends of several cliques ranging from goths to preps and was on pretty good terms with a lot of the guys from the sports teams. My point was really less that you should pick and choose your friends based on how it makes you look and more that people with similar interests, personalities, and beliefs tend to congregate based on their similarities.

On the other hand, if someone is validly an asshole, I'm not sticking around, because even if they're nice to their friends, that doesn't excuse their behavior concerning everyone else, and with the way I am, I'd probably make an enemy of myself anyway for calling them out on it.

My point was more that I think every person is attracted to people of same gender more than they'd like to think, assuming they think they aren't attracted to the same sex. In terms of who people are sexually attracted to, I think everyone is bi, but a number of factors end up causing them to think otherwise or to repress homosexual urges.
