Here's a head-scratcher: before I started working for the city, my supervisor did all the web site work himself in Front Page. He only ever tested for IE. Somehow, the styles got messed up in such a way that things look fine in IE, but in literally everything else, most of the pages are white text on a white background.

His main web site computer is now fully equipped with all 5 major browsers and my own hand-done styles for the new site that ensures everything displays correctly in all of them. (Although for some reason, IE8 adds the left margin to the right margin, so I have a META tag on every page to force it into IE7 compatibility, or else things are all kinds of messed up.)


Edit: Sir Pink: Maybe it's just that it doesn't do well in a multitasking environment, but when I've got all five major browsers open at once, Firefox works the fastest. Well, after IE, but it's the fastest out of the worthwhile browsers.

Generally when you weave lit fuel around you at high speeds you tend to light on fire anyway, which if you do it right is pretty much like a bad sunburn that lasts 2-16 weeks, and you don't feel it after the first 3-5 days or so if you treat it right.
I do have a pretty cool burn from doing combo wraps, the superheated metal branded my flesh in less than a second leaving a + + pattern on my arm, though it was 2 months ago so it's starting to fade.

I do realize the background image I got is cutting into the backgrounds and reported it same-day, but I'm getting the impression that it's a fair amount of work to go into the forum code and manually apply new coding so its possible that the mods just haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.
Not all that much work now that everything's in place for you, but you still gotta come up with a new background image or tell me what else you'd like. :)

Tried that, but the super bright fire simply didn't contrast with the white enough, and since the image seems to crop weirdly displacing it everywhere but the posts (disabling the ability to create a virtual stroke) it needed to be darker which is actually what my background image was.. just modified fire I shopped.

That's what I was talking about. He's just over the normal height of a line of text by like a couple of pixels. Not enough to hide the other names, but enough to cut into them. Just pretend I correctly put "the" before "yellow" in that post.
