In the last minute of the game USA took their goalie out at 2:1 and managed to score in the last few seconds.
We now enter into overtime at 2:2.

Woooooooooooooooooooooo that was a pretty exciting game.
Gaining the world record for most gold medals in the Winter Olympics ever, first time for Canada too, by just barely beating the USA in hockey in overtime.
I don't even care for hockey but that's pretty epic.

If Ryan Miller isn't the tournament MVP though, it'll be a joke. He's the main reason the US team was in the finals.
But woohoo CANADA WON! WOohoo for Iginla!!! Getting the assist!

Awesome game! Grats to all the Canadians out there. Your star player scores the winning goal in overtime to beat the US for the gold on your home turf.
Thing is...we're still the best. Because after the Olympics are over, we get to leave Canada. :p

Edit@KrogothWolf: Also Maple Leafs. :(
@Everyone: The USA played an amazing game tonight. I'd be proud of my country, were I from the USA, for doing such a good job- and the ballsy move on pulling the goalie paid off great!
I mean, everyone else were kind of terrible. Even Finland, and they got third.

I can't get over how downright magical these Olympics have been. I mean, let's go over some of the things that happened for Canada...
1) Alexandre Bilodeau is discovered by the Canadian media to be pretty much the nicest guy to ever walk the earth, showing how much time he spends with his brother (who has cerebral palsy) and how much he cares about his brother. He then comes out of nowhere to beat Dale Bagg-Smith, the guy who got Australian citizenship and skied for Australia because he didn't like the time commitment Canada wanted. This, by the way, is the first gold medal ever won by a Canadian on home soil.
2) Maelle Ricker wins a gold medal in snowboard cross, in front of her friends and family no less, in an Olympics hosted by her hometown.
3) Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, the youngest athletes in the Ice Dance competition skate two flawless performances en route to taking gold. They are the youngest athletes to ever win a gold in ice dance.
4) John Montgomery, a random dude from Manitoba, comes out of nowhere to win over the country with his personality and then goes on to win gold in Skeleton. His celebration was one of the proudest moments for Canadians all over.
5) Clara Hughes becomes the only person EVER to win multiple medals in both the summer olympics and the winter olympics.
6) Marianna St. Gelais won the silver in 500m short track on her 20th birthday.
7) The brothers Hamelin, and really the entire speed skating team, is wholly underwhelming until the last two days. Charles Hamelin declares "I am not leaving without a gold, the country expects better than that," and proceeds to win gold in his last two events.
8) Joannie Rochette's mother dies of a heart attack upon getting to Vancouver to watch her little girl skate in the Olympics. Skate Canada and the COC both state that they are 100% behind Rochette, regardless of what she does, and that she has their full support if she can't go through with the Olympics. Despite this, Rochette wins the bronze medal in women's figure skating, wins the Terry Fox award in recognition of her unwillingness to quit and is then named Canada's flag bearer for the closing ceremony.
9) Kevin Martin was the third for Canada back in 2002, where the men's curling team won silver. Right at the start of the tournament he says, "I want gold. I know we can win gold, and you bet that I won't be satisfied with silver." Canada wins the gold in men's curling.
10) Men's hockey. To say this country lives and breathes hockey doesn't do it justice. After losing 5-3 to our neighbours to the South, Canada goes through Germany, Russia and Slovakia to get a rematch on the world's biggest stage. The USA, by the way, was the unexpected juggernaut of the tournament. Oh, if that wasn't enough, the US just beat Canada in the U18's and the World Juniors. Following the Women's example, Canada plays out of their freaking minds. In OT, Sidney Crosby, the FACE of Canadian hockey, the golden boy and favoured son that is beloved by the nation, scores the winning goal. Ironically, the pass came from Jarome Iginla who scored the winner in 2002 at Salt Lake, as if it were some crazy passing of the torch.
11) Oh, and if that gold wasn't nice enough, it was Gold #14. Which means Canada has won more golds as a host nation than anyone else, as well as more golds in a single games than any other country EVER.
Unreal games. Just...unreal two weeks.

And at least we probably won't be frozen anymore by 2050! Hell, we were barely frozen this year. Well, I don't know about the prairies, but everywhere I've been in eastern Canada was really mild. And they had to make a lot of artificial snow in Vancouver, so...

Vancouver has like 3 days of snow a year... it's honestly like Seattle except more sun and in Canada.
I can't believe Canada put Nickelback in the winter Olympics closing ceremony... totally killed their pride combo.
TBH if it were not for Canada you probably wouldn't have sword chucks... Vancouverites pioneered the new aria in poi over the last 8 years, but I've got to give creds to Alien Jon from Arizona for doing a lot of the coding and tech work towards the art.

No, New Zealand is real! It's home of the world famous chokers! The All-Blacks! no one knows choking like the All-Blacks do. I think that's why SMB is jealous of the Winter Olympics. He can't see New Zealander's choke!

The problem is that while we could potentially be masterful chokers at imaginary sports we would need to spend years building up fictitious credit to be legitimate contenders. To build up this credit we would need to spend much effort publicising our greatness and holding "world events" at things that only we play- like beer crate headbutt competitions- and we are only a small country and have our hands full choking at proper sports.
