View Full Version : How The... What The... WHY IS THIS BABY PPREGNANT?!
Pregnant one-year-old. (http://virtualfunzone.com/1-year-old-child-is-pregnant.html)
One year old child found pregnant in Saudi Arabia. Doctors says it’s a unique case for this world! Medical Science Report says : “When the mother of this child was pregnant, she had 2 fetuses inside her. But one of the fetus grew inside the other, this why this girl was born with the other fetus inside her womb.”

Well that just topped pretty much every medically impossible thing that's ever happened to anyone ever.
This shit is beyond crazy. I wonder if she'll make it through the C section. I hope so.
Saudi Arabian police are currently beating the mother for allowing her newborn child to become pregnant out of wedlock.

If she makes it. She'll be the youngest mommy in the world. XD
That'll be a story to tell her when she gets older.

Well there was thee world's youngest mother (http://www.snopes.com/pregnant/medina.asp). She apparently hit puberty while she was in the womb. Of course she took almost five years to get knocked up so this kid has her beat. And without the, you know, molesting. So that's good.
Pretty sure other fetus is dead.

Yeah, if the baby is one year old - which is to say beyond a newborn - that means that the fetus didn't grow along with the baby that was born. So I'm pretty sure it isn't pregnant, just carrying the inert fetus inside it. Basic gestation math, if I'm reading the article right, means it's kind of impossible.
I think anyway.
Even if the little girl was still covered in blood and screaming, fetus inside would be dead.
Otherwise fetus would already be a baby.

It's the darndest thing, I can't find any source called Medical Science Report anywhere and that quote does not at all sound remotely scientific.
... you know I'm gonna move this, it's a bit less sourced than it should be for the News forum.

Not to rain on anybody's parade but this has happened before. The 'Ripley's Belive it or Not' tv show featured a full grown man who had basically lived his life like this with a semi-dead parasitic twin living inside of him.

Yeah I was gona mention that one then Nique. Guy thought he was just fat for 30 years, before finaly getting an x-ray and realising his twin was in there.
This seems like the same thing, only they discovered it much earlier.

That too but I assumed everyone was aware of that and this was just about the slightly creepy location where it happened to pop up in this case. Although I don't think I really trust that site to accurately represent medical details.
I don't even know what that site it, but they've got a half paragraph medical story with no sources or links and they're called Virtual Fun Zone with all their colorful tabs having nothing to do with news I don't think you can get more credible than that, guys.

Doctors in Saudi Arabia witnessed a rare phenomenon after a baby girl was born pregnant, press reports said.
The baby girl's mother was initially pregnant with twins, but doctors said the fetuses developed abnormally causing a rare condition known as fetus in fetu, Britain's Metro newspaper reported.
Under normal circumstances the babies would be born twins; however, in this case the fetus grew inside its sister creating what has been described as a 'unique case in the world.' the paper said.
A fetus in fetu occurs in 1 in 500,000 births and is technically considered alive and has sparked debates about whether or not removing the baby can be considered murder. But doctors say the fetus is only alive in the sense that its component tissues have not yet died or been eliminated.
In January, a two month old Indonesian baby was diagnosed with a tumor after her stomach began swelling, but doctors later discovered she was carrying a five month old fetus.
In 2006, a 36-year-old Indian farmer had his twin brother removed after the man sought medical assistance for a swollen stomach that hampered his breathing.
Doctors initially diagnosed the man with a stomach tumor but after surgery they found human genitalia, hairs, limbs and a jaw.

See that's better but I'm still not trusting any press report that throws around the term 'pregnant' or uses it without stopping for a second to say, hold on, we better change that because this is not what pregnancy is and we're being sensationalist.
it's like if Angelina Jolie was pregnant and press reports said ANGELINA JOLIE INFESTED WITH PARASITE

It's hard to find many sites that would comment on this without using an attention-grabbing title like "BABY BORN PREGNANT" so that the rest of the article can go "except not really kinda if you think about it."
Still. "We dug out a proto-baby from your stomach. It had hair and limbs and everything!" Yeeeeeeeshhhhhh.

That's what she claimed at least. I think the original text refers to her as a "young woman", and a translation error has created the whole "immaculate conception" myth.
Yeah, I only thought this was important to point out once a woman's honesty has been called into question because of it.

ANGELINA JOLIE INFESTED WITH PARASITE. ALSO, SHE'S PREGNANT.
I was skeptical of this story when Virtual Fun Zone reported it, but now that it's been picked up by Mom Logic, I can only imagine other notable publications will follow suit.
