So, this is just something that's been bouncing in my head...

I wanted to keep a small collection of my Favorite Discovery Channel shows and specials. Here in Brazil we Have "Discovery Brasil", and most if not all the shows are subtitled and/or dubbed. The schedule is a tad messed up, but it gets around...

Here is the thing.

Those shows have their DVD's in the US and UK, but not in Brazil. And the international DVD's don't have Subtitles or dubbing. If there is a Discovery store that sells the products i want in my language, i'm not aware.

So, this is where i get stuck... the shows are licensed and they are on Tv, but the DVD's or any other form of me actually paying to get them, just doesn't exist as far as i know of. Does that mean i can actually download this content or i'm stuck with what they offer?

That's pretty much WHY Brazil is known for piracy. All I ever hear is that that's the only way to get stuff.

It probably also makes companies think twice about offering things there. A vicious cycle... :ohdear:

Edit: Serves me right for getting up and doing stuff before actually posting. *facepalm*

To answer the actual question, piracy is illegal. It just is, despite how bad it sucks you can't get stuff legally.

Modern Warfare 2 on sale! Just 199,00!! it was 249,00 ...

I think their store might just be badly placed... i mean, it would be really stupid to have the shows on TV and not offer the DVD's...
