Bowser was fossilized via lava (http://kotaku.com/5619202/bowser-died-3000-years-ago) at the end of SMB, wasn't he? That's what happened after you grabbed the axe and junk? Well, Scientists(tm) have risked life and limb fighting Goomba's, Hammer Brothers and Birdo to find his remains:

This extinct species of turtle was five-feet wide and weighed half a ton. It also looks a lot like a certain Nintendo villain.

The dog nose, the horns, the beaked mouth, the (relatively) enormous size...it's official name is Meiolania platyceps, but it may as well have been called Meiolania Bowserus, so uncanny is the resemblance to Mario's chief antagonist.

I know, Bowser and his Koopas are supposed to look like turtles, but this one goes a little further than looking like a turtle. I think it's the horns. And especially the eyes. Those dark, angled, evil eyes.

The Meiolania platyceps was in the news last week because a team of Australian paleontologists discovered that it was part of a species believed to have died out over 50,000 years ago, but has recently been found to have died out only 3000 years ago.

As is often the case with animals that have gone extinct since humans first learned to walk upright, hunting is believed to have been the cause of their demise.

Next they'll be telling us that Italians exist...

Oh, shit. Someone suggested that the remains might be a Blastoise... Pokemon. Pokemon don't exist, do they?

Oh. Well I guess I'll be over here, waiting for the moment when they clone Kirby.

I don't think animals that look like pokemon count, seeing as all pokemon are based on real animals(Ekans)

Still pretty bad-ass though

Read quote, thought "such a ridiculously forced connection between a news item and video games could only come from kotaku", checked link, welp.

e: Kotaku would straight up publish an article about half of Pakistan being flooded and headline it with something like WATER LAND EXISTS, PLEASE DONATE FROG SUITS and not see anything wrong with it

That looks more like Kubone than Bowser.

The fact that 1) I would not be surprised if they did this and 2) I would also not be surprised if people actually donated frog suits makes it sad and funny at the same time.

I'd say more Dry Bones then that.

What the hell is Primeval?

My god...you living in a cave or just never watched BBC America?

Primeval was a 3 Season (4th Season is being co-produced with a German Company) on the BBC that was also shown on BBC America. The plot revolved around this team of scientists who were having to deal with Time Warps called Anomalies that let creatures from the past and future through.

I got the first two seasons on DVD. ^_^ Would like to get the 3rd Season.

By the way, Goombas come from the future.

I am still seeking out the Koopa Troopas.
