Calling all bored NPFers

I need some help. A handful of items were stolen from my grandmother's house. Most of these were replaceable- a camera, a vase, etc. One thing, though, wasn't: My Grandmother's wedding ring from her dead husband. It's a VERY expensive ring, and we have reason to believe my aunt stole it.

Confronting her about it will yield nothing. She's a liar straight through and would rather let people suffer then risk getting in trouble.

SO I COME TO YOU NPF. There are SO MANY DIFFERENT Pawn Shops, between Orillia and Barrie, and right into Toronto and surrounding townships, that I don't want to risk missing one! I'll be driving around and checking every shop to see if she's sold anything at every shop I can find; can you, the denizens of the internet, help create a list of places to check? Any Hock Shop, Pawn shop, that has a phone number or an address will suffice. Just post in this thread for me.

Good luck; that's terrible news, and I hope this works out.

It's also worth filing a police report; pawn shops should not knowingly deal in stolen property, and a proper police report may help you in claiming the ring if you do find it. If there's an unique identifying feature on it, be sure to state that in the report!

Do you know if your aunt was headed out of town or anywhere else? It might help you know which areas to concentrate on. And I second filing a report with the police about it. Every little thing will help.

Thanks for the words, especially Specterbane. I'm hitting all these shops today and tomorrow, trying to find the camera and the ring. my ex girlfriend Rachel is also trying to coerce my aunt into giving up the details on who she hocked the things to.
