So I've got a problem, its really sort of an addiction. You see I collect little plastic soldier in the vain hope that someday I shall paint them to a high standard of fantastical awesomeness and enact epic battles with them.
Unfortunately this obsession has reached critical levels of ridiculousness. There was a time when I would make token efforts at building and painting these 24mm armies, I'd say I'd paint at about 50% of the speed that I bought. However now all pretenses of progress have been drowned by an avalanche of time and I pretty much have a hobby store in my closet.
I mean like this is a for real problem, I estimate approximately $1500.00 worth of plastic toys still in the boxes and a smattering of other that have been assembled yet not painted. This collection started some time shortly after I left the military, which would mean its coming up on 3 years old and NOTHING HAS BEEN PAINTED!
I have recently placed an embargo on all future purchases until such a time as I can get this collection under control, but I fear the serried ranks of elves and beasts residing in my closet shall soon sally forth and conquer my living room in an orgy of half finished projects and spilled paint. I really need to develop a plan here or I fear my beloved collection will find its way to the final resting place of all expensive hobbies people don't have time for: ebay.
I guess the point of this thread is to share my shame with the world (and look for any tips you folks might have for painting large quantities of miniatures) and invite you to do the same. Is there something you've been collecting or procrastinating on for years that is getting out of control? Is that collection of pokemon cards causing relationship problems, yet you can't bring yourself to get rid of your beloved ultra-rare foil print pikachu? Absolve yourself by letting the internet know.
