Ever come into contact with aliens? Espers? Any items or beings displaying unique or paranormal abilities? Odds are they will wind up in a secure facility by agents of the SCP Foundation. An excerpt from one of their files;

Item #: SCP-002

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-002 is to remain connected to a suitable power supply at all times, to keep it in what appears to be a recharging mode. In case of electrical outage, the emergency barrier between the object and the facility is to be closed and the immediate area evacuated. Once facility power is re-established, alternating bursts of X-ray and ultraviolet light must strobe the area until SCP-002 is re-affixed to the power supply and returned to recharging mode. Containment area is to be kept at negative air pressure at all times.

Teams including a minimum of two (2) members are required within twenty (20) meters of SCP-002 or its containment area. Personnel should maintain physical contact with one another at all times to confirm there is another person present as perception may be dulled, skewed, or influenced by proximity to the object.

No personnel below Level 2 are permitted within SCP-002. This requirement may be waived via written authorization from two (2) off-site O5-level administrators. Command staff issued such a waiver must be escorted by at least five (5) Level 3 Security personnel for the duration of their contact and must temporarily surrender their rank and security clearance. Following contact, command staff will be escorted at least five kilometers (5km) from SCP-002 to undergo a seventy two (72)-hour quarantine and psychological evaluation. If deemed fit for return to duty by psych staff, rank and security clearance may be restored when quarantine expires.

Description: Refer to the Mulhausen Report [cross-ref:document00.023.603] for details related to object's discovery. SCP-002 resembles a tumorous, fleshy growth with a volume of roughly sixty cubic metres (60 m³) or two thousand (2000) cubic feet. An iron valve hatch on one side leads to its interior, which appears to be a standard low-rent apartment of modest size. One wall of the room possesses a single window, though no such opening is visible from the exterior. The room contains furniture which, upon close examination, appears to be sculpted bone, woven hair, and various other biological substances produced by the human body. All matter tested thus far show independent or fragmented DNA sequences for each object in the room.

Reference: To date, subject has been responsible for the disappearances of seven personnel. It has also in its time at the facility further furnished itself with two lamps, a throw rug, a television, a radio, a beanbag chair, three books in an unknown language, four children's toys, and a small potted plant. Tests with a variety of lab animals including higher primates have failed to provoke a response in SCP-002. Cadavers as well fail to produce any effect. Whatever process the subject uses to convert organic matter into furnishings, is apparently only facilitated by the introduction of living humans.

That's...interesting.

By the gods, there are hundreds of these.

Well there goes my friday night...

There's some variety as far as quality (some of the 'Safe' entries aren't quite as well-written) but overall a lot of very interesting and at times really spooky concepts.

Uuusshhhhh, spooky is the word, indeed.

SCP-914 (http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-914) would have to be my favorite.

I liked these more before the Fishmonger got all pissy and pulled all his SCPs from the site. We lost some good stuff. :/

Ran into this site a few months ago. I thought it was a good concept but needed unification. I understand it's user-created but terms and protocols and writing quality were all over the place.

I was just reading these, actually. Some of them are pretty good.

682 is the best. And the various Doctors.

Token, you're a contributor?

What the fuck did ol' Fish get his panties in a twist for? Jeeze. (Note: I haven't been there on ages. Last time I got back from a hiatus, Cleff had stepped down as a mod or admin for a good while already, so... I'm WELL behind on news.)

In any case, the antics between Kondraki and Cleff were pretty funny.
One antic with Kondraki and 682 was exceptionally funny as well.

914 is pretty sweet, and 682 is one of the all-time favourites.

This is a very similar concept to the whole "Government Warehouse" things that's been floating around for a while. Dunno which came first though, but this one seems more concise and has far more interesting things.

055 and 507 are probably my favourites. 145 is utterly terrifying.

I think there was monster in the D&D Elder Evils book that did something like this (http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-407)

I'll take one of each . . . paying with credit mind you.

Oh man. I don't think I'll be answering my phone for a while.

Part of me wishes I had my own entry. For myself. Where my entry is just that I showed up one day and stayed only as long as they eventually filled out an entry, then left. Preferably leaving a facility on fire and blowing up a few doomy items that are normally unblow-upable for mankind's good.

SCP-087 (http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-087) makes me wet myself, same with SCP-173 (http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-173)

SCP-247 (http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-247) is oddly hilarious.

The various attempts at killing SCP-682 were enough to burn me out on the site. Maybe you could try that?

Generally nothing there bothers me until I get to the SCPs that are actually just completely benevolent people that mean no one any harm and are still locked away just because they have some odd abilities.

Then I get sad and quit reading.

I generally get more entertainment from the miscellaneous documents (experiment logs, stories, etc) and joke SCPs, than from the main articles themselves.

Like The Sun Launcher, (http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-1543-j) and Duke Till Dawn. (http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/duke-till-dawn)

SCP posters seem to have a real thing for killing off Rank-D officers too.

"D-Class" is synonymous with "Fodder". A lot of 'em are criminals (particularly Death Row) and the like, or people who are unlikely to be missed.

Krylo

Or people that took pity on aforementioned imprisoned mutants. Or basically anyone that a lead researcher doesn't like.

Ooh!
Go and read "Cleff and Dimitri hit the road". It's very funny. =3

Ah yes, the coffee machine that can dispense anything. That was one of the first ones I read. It's pretty neat.

"Science" and "Tankapult" in the joke SCP's are the best, specifically one of the byproducts of "science".

EDIT: SCP-294a is one of the few things that can make me laugh hard these days.
