So, sorry if I missed one we already had, but we just got a buttload of snow all at once. Fifteen inches, to be exact. Possibly more. My area now looks from one snowfall like it hasn't even looked mid-winter in a couple years. I would have said it sooner, but I was too busy shoveling again and again as the stuff kept falling. It was actually so bad they plowed our street. For reference, the plow usually visits our street at most three times a year, while some kind soul with a pickup usually handles it the rest of the time to make our street drivable. It takes a LOT to shut down Wisconsin, but the city did pretty much just that. Almost all of the restaurants closed and very few people were brave enough to try to drive in it (the pussies!).
Whoever wished for a white Christmas needs to be found and shot.

This is the first proper, cold, snowy winter I've had in the last 4 years.
I hate it already.

I haved lived alll my life in a tropical wonderland where snow is a myth. The last few years I have lived in basically the artic. I have avoided winter every year except this one. And ho shit is snow stupid. Notice how world history is basically people trying to get away from Europe? There is a reason for that.

This right here? This moment?
This is me having no sympathy for you.
I'm in Saskatoon baby, where it snows 10 inches every night and snow one gives a snuck.

It gets REALLY windy over here at college in MA, but other than that the cold isn't too bad, but we still ended up having a tiny bit of snow a couple of days that actually stuck. Next day was the warmest day for the past couple of weeks and today it rained. I... I have no words. Here's hoping there's enough snow tuesday to cancel my finals though.

Up until December 8th, there wasn't any snow in Toronto.
By December 10th, we had piles and I made a snowman on my birthday.
Today, December 12th, There is no snow and it was raining.
I'm good with this.

Agreed. I live in Winnipeg. The snow here? It eats people. I don't mean it covers them gently in a frosty white blankey. I mean it literally fucking eats people. Last time it snowed? They were like, "We should send out a search party for all the people that might be dead because the snow ate them."
Then some other guy was like, "Well fuck that, the search party will get eaten!"
No one has ever been found.

Last Sunday we received a heaping helping of snow here in London, so much so that the city was shut down for about a day and the school boards were down for three. I have never seen so much snow fall all at once in my entire life.

For all saying "quit your bitching," let me be clear we regularly get 8-10 inches of snow in a sitting. This was 15+ inches of a heavy powder, which does not compact, but loves to drift, as the first major snow of the year (we had a bit for Thanksgiving which didn't stay on the roads). As such, the roads were not salted, the plows had to scramble, and since the highways come first, the city was left accumulating it. Most cars do not have 15 inches of road clearance. For the metric population, that's a whopping 38 centimeters of white stuff on the roads. While the plows were out on the highway. So yeah, very few people were out on the roads.
Also, we usually get a bit of melting to help ease things up, but it's been consistently 15F or lower and shows no signs of warming up until Thursday... when we're looking at a 33% chance of more snow. For reference, salt generally only works down to about 20F.

Nothing in South Carolina, though it has been very cold for the last week or so. One inch of snow means the whole state will shut down. ;)

It's been snowing on and off for a while here.
Had some good snowfall last night, and just a flake or two during the day.
Last week, it was a blizzard for the Netherlands' doing. Which means it doesn't come close to a blizzard, but there was some considerable snowfall.

We currently have freezing rain.
That is to say it's raining on our already snowy city, and then that rain is automatically freezing. My car is covered in a layer of ice.

Ottawa got hit moderately hard. Remember it's not so much the total amount of snow that falls, but the SPEED at which it fell. Thus is the problem with my city today.
Because sure we can handle 20-30cm of snow no problem, but not if it APPEARS IMMEDIATELY.
The bus ride was fun as shit though. We almost wrapped ourselves around a light sign twice. Somebody was telling me somewhere in New Brunswick got hit with almost three feet of snow. I tried calling my folks down there but the lines were all dead...

I waited for the bus 55 minutes yesterday morning because of the snow. Mind you, this is in a city with a population of 400,000 and buses that normally run every 7 1/2 minutes without a problem.
I am usually 20-30 min early to work, but yesterday I was late and very, very cold. And pissed off because what the fuck, 55 minutes late? We didn't get that much snow where I live, maybe 2 inches. So... wtf? Maybe it was just so cold the batteries in the buses couldn't turn on? I dunno.
Winter can go fuck itself.

Apparently in ontario or somewhere they had 2 METERS of slow fall in an hour, it trapped dozens of people immediately and they had to call the army.
My friend's bud whos a big rig driver was coming through a small ontario town at 2AM and there was so much slush that he started to break at a red light just as he got into the town and slid taking up 2 lanes THROUGH THE ENTIRE TOWN. It took him over the length of a TOWN to stop.

Yeah, it was in the papers. Some 300 people were trapped in their cars for over 24 hours because it was such a terrible white out. Fortunately some nice folks let these strangers into their homes and looked after them until they could leave.
That happened in the area where I used to live so I'm thankful I moved out of the god awful north.
Edit: north as in northern Ontario. Cause the Canadian universe revolves around the GTA. >>

It has actually warmed up in the last couple of days. It was close to 60 F today. Anything is possible. And P-Sleazy, I am sorry if I have been tough on the University of South Carolina, it is just good natured fun. I actually like the school, and I want to attend their Law School one of these days. I just have developed a contrarian attitude from being the only Ohio State Buckeye fan living within 300 miles. We're cool though, right?
Peace and out.

To those saying love the snow or learn to live with it (unless you are in Canada), please shut the flying hell up. We got areas around me that got hit with 21.5" of the stuff. Oh, and I am only like 30-45 minutes south of the Metrodome drivetime on good normal days.
We got so much snow we are running out of places to put it and got snow banks on roads nearly 5 feet high at the curb. I got lots of fun to look forward too this weekend continuing the ongoing project of clearing out my Mailbox, which the plow trucks don't make easy.
I want to live in Sedona and get abducted by aliens. >_> Request that they take me off this rock and give me a spaceship to fly around the Universe.
Do I get either of those? Nope! I live in freaking Minne-SNOW-ta!
FYI> Seasonal Average is about 30 inches for my state.
