This thread is dedicated to the media's insistence upon reporting news that we already have been aware of for.... I dunno... ever, and the utter stupidity of their "Captain Obvious" syndrome. I'll begin with:

Johnny Weir Announces He's Gay! In Other News, OJ Simpson Announces He's Black. (http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/news?slug=ap-weir-book)

Srsly? We needed his book to know? It really wasn't that obvious by every *ahem* subtle clue about him? The gay community called him on it when he refused to come out. The straight community knew and didn't give a crap. I can't wait for their next news post that will announce what I've known all along: Rain is really small drops of water carried by clouds from where it evaporated and not actually melted cloud itself.

Feel free to post other "No Shit?" news articles here and discuss.

Not so much "no shit?" more like "who gives a flipping crap about this?" But... Ricky Martin is also Gay.

Why would I post news that I don't care about in the first place?

Not quite as good as Magus' link, but it still fits. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/23/the-most-obvious-headline_n_654436.html#s116368&title=undefined)

http://www.showbizspy.com/article/200143/colin-farrell-appreciates-success-now-that-hes-sober.html

The 33-year-old actor — previously famed for his hard partying ways — gave up drinking a few years ago and says being teetotal has allowed him to be proud of his big screen achievements.

Colin Farrell had/has big screen achievements? Really? Really?

Heh. Excellent! I'm amused. Big screen achievements indeed. Why there were so very many, like...

...err... like....
