What does that mean? Well, if you don't care about your horroscope, not a thing, I think. I don't think astrology is correct in the idea that distant planets/stars/whatever have an effect on people.

What I do think is that a long time ago, it was noticed by many cultures that people tend to fall into a finite series of archetypes. And rather than think that it was an internal force responsible (like DNA), they attributed the series of different personalities to the stars.

I mean, I don't fully believe this and I'm sure there is scientific data to refute this (nature/nurture), but at the same time people have a tendency to want to categorize others and be sorted themselves. Even if you don't believe in it at all, your subconscious is still being told to act a certain way. Maybe that's why so many people seem (or claim) to fit one sign or another.
