View Full Version : "Capes, And The Wearing Thereof" or "Dammit Bells!"
Capes.
They've been the exclusive domain of animated heroes, magicians and Draculas for far too long. I say we take it back.

Summer's coming, though - we need something light weight. Something soft, preferably.

A light silk cape might work. Or any light cloth, really.
I think the important thing is that it hangs around your shoulders, not just back.

I have a reasonably heavy silver cloak, actually. Love that thing to death. Unfortunately, given that my mom made it before I was born for SCA use, the thread is about as brittle as, well, I guess there's not a good comparison, but I ended up sewing it up a lot as a kid as sections burst open and it's been needing it again for some odd years after I outgrew playing with it and subsequently didn't even get a chance to wear it on Halloween after a while.
It's right in the laundry room in the basement. I should get around to sewing it up again. :raise:

When I was a young lad my mom made me this cloak for Halloween. But the thing was so freaking comfortable I would wear it where ever. Why are capes and cloaks mocked? They're so comfortable!

I once saw this nice heavy cloak for about €50. Rushing to find an ATM, I could then no longer find the stall.
It was a damned shame, since it'd been a nice raincloak for those spring- and autumn rainshowers.
