Little fuckers are everywhere... !

Well, not INSIDE the House at least... but around!

Here is the inside scoop, My house is 20 minute drive from the Beach, in a Huge farm that was turned into a housing condo. Many houses already built, quite a few empty lots. Cleaning is Semi-regular but effective enough.

My parents decided to not have exposed soil in our lot, so the entire lot is covered by a thick Concrete base, where the house sits atop. There are small "trenches" between the slabs of concrete, with Soil exposed. common grass was blooming from that, so i conviced my mom to take the simple way out, Salted the earth. Damn thing is gone.

Now there are a few patches that still have that exposed soil and some grass, and my mom keeps a few dozen plants in vases and pots in the backyard. We never had Millipedes until now for about 4 years we live here. The only change is that now we have more plants in the backyard. Also it's Cold/Rain season around here, so humidity is high.

every night we can find the little fuckers by the dozens. My solution (the cheap one) is just to Salt Everything else again, and cover with same simple cement, i guess that would work well enough...

So, ideas? Could use a hand here...

Burn it all--the house, everything.

...Wait, I'm sorry, were you asking a question?

Have you tried laying down some insecticide around the exterior wall and under the windowsills and door frames outside? There should be some brands labeled safe for home use that you can use around their favorite hiding places indoors (much like human pests, they like damp, dark places).

Yeah i thought about it, but we have 3 dogs that use that space everyday, so my mom can't even consider the idea

Orkin's always done quality bug control in my experience

The internet says that nematodes can kill millipedes, if you have one or two years for the nematodes to establish themselves. You've got time, right?

Or, you could probably help the nematodes, Civilization-style. Make little castles and windmills. Build up the mighty Nematode Empire and bring the millipedes to their many, many knees!

Why does that remind me of... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a13-JbxC98&feature=related)

Millipedes?! In Mah House?!

Have you thought of trapping them and relocating them? In the yard of a troublesome neighbor, perhaps? Or in their house?

Slaughter them and devour their tiny millipedial hearts to gain their strength.

I dunno, man, every movie I've seen where someone's taking people's hearts, it always turns out badly for them.

Movies aren't real life, Seil.

I'm just thinking that if he's going to catch millipedes, he might as well move them out in the woods or something instead of conducting a tedious heart eating ritual for each one.

If only for simplicity's sake.

Question: Millipedes don't have hearts, would consuming their soul after enslaving their queen thus breaking their societal spirit work, or would it taint the power that can be harvested?

Surely for creatures so small one could perform some kind of mass heart- or soul-extraction ritual? If you can't get at its queen, of course.

Do millipedes have queens?
