I dunno why, but I've been feeling pretty down recently, whenever I have some time to myself. I dunno exactly why I'm making this post, but it seems like a good idea at the time. I'm assuming I'm just feeling run down from spending a ton of time in crunch time working on the game I've spoken about before, and the fact that I'm not sure if the final product will even be very good. There have been a lot of last minute snags that we've hit, that we've had to work around, and I think the quality might suffer a bit. At least a lot of learning has been done, and game 2 will be greatly superior in quality.

When I'm out with friends and stuff, I'm fine, it's just being alone that gets me, so, I dunno. Blargh.

It's because I'm feeling down because I have a diploma in Creative Writing and absolutely no idea how to make short term practical use for it. My sheer angst is causing ripples in the world's vibes, and dragging you cats down to bummerville.

Just remember, anytime you're feeling down, there's always someone more lonely and worse off than yourself. And that it's only partially my fault.

Also, Get a dog! They are comfort and companionship that runs on puppy chow, table scraps, and peanut butter flavored doggy treats. Plus, whenever you feel alone, and blah, just walk up to your dog and just LOOK how happy he is to see you! He or she can barely contain it even!

First watch this. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWwrhUX3iTM)

Second, like you said it might just be down time after hard day's night, so I guess there's nothing to be worried about.

Third, sharing feelings helps you to cope with them and that's quite good reason to make this thread. And at least we got some nice pics.

Hey, there's only room for one jinx on the forums, and I decided that was me several years ago! Even if I've not actually announced it. Or the room's manor-sized. Ahem.

If loneliness is your thing however, I'd also say get some kind of animal. If not a dog as it's too high yield, then a cat that'll park himself on top of you while trying to get up in the morning and sink his claws in if you dare moving away, as it cannot abide being without its precious human water bottle.
Tangent aside, you'll also probably feel better when the crunch time is over. Sounds a lot like exam periods back at college in the past. We'll require details of your creation, of course. :D

I know how you feel. My senior design was pretty depressing because we had so many problems getting the help we thought we would and running into snags solving problems with it. When our time was up it wasn't what we wanted to present at all. But this right here...

At least a lot of learning has been done, and game 2 will be greatly superior in quality.

This is the right attitude. It sucks that you can't always put out your best work, but if you can learn from the times you have to put out less you can be ahead of the problems that are going to crop up in the future.

Enjoy some time with your friends and get back into making great games, cause you can do it.

So, feeling pretty okay today. Just deciding what I want to do with the day, since I'm hung up waiting on music for the game before I can do anything else, and the music guy's apparently taking the day off, because there's a music festival going on somewhere.

Good to hear you're feeling better.
Having felt absolutely in the dumps a while back, I know how horrible that feels.

Went bowling at this hole in the wall bowling place, which felt right out of Back to the Future, which was fun. Didn't even know it existed until I ended up accidentally at the door, and the dude was opening it up again for the night, and I felt bad leaving, since I thought he was opening it up because I pulled into the parking lot to turn around.

It sold Coke in glass bottles! From the old style machine that opens up when you put in money!

Coke in glass bottles are always awesome, and I feel they taste better than in a can, but maybe that's just me. I also agree with the animal thing, but not necessarily getting one, but maybe just going at a pet shop and asking them if you can cuddle with a puppy or kitten, I know it often cheers me up.

Listening to music you love I always found helped me stop feeling blue. Or these two (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRv8gnBMiWM) videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r9To--8IVY&feature=fvsr), although I'm just a sucker for oldtimey music. Coincidentely, I would've also linked George Harisson's Here comes the Sun; it's like an automatic feel good music for me.

Glad to hear you're feeling better now :)
