I'm super-glad I don't live in California because this extremely minor earthquake made me freak out for a minute.
I am officially a giant wuss.

And Virgina is a virgin no more! XD
did anyone else on the East Coast of the USA feel that? I heard the aftershocks could be felt all the way up in Toronto Canada.
That was kind of fun! lol

I hope nobody has been severely affected by this... but oh my damn. What the hell is happening to this planet, anyways?!

The same thing that always happens, nature. Nothing to get paranoid about.

Looks like someone already made a thread about it. And yeah I'm weird like that. The little ones are fun... for me... it's a weird thing.

Doesn't look like anyone was seriously hurt by this. Just freaked out a bit. Same goes for property damage.
My first Earthquake aftershock (New Jersey), have to say it felt weird. XD

I don't know, it kind of fun when it's only a small scale one or a minor after shock.

Everyone in North Carolina apparently felt it. Everything jumped a little bit, and freaked everyone in my class the hell out because you're not supposed to get goddamn earthquakes in North Carolina.
There's also apparently another one over in Colorado. CNN! (http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/08/23/colorado.quake/index.html)
Only damage this appears to have caused is fucking up the airplane travel schedule even more.

oh. :(
On topic: it's so weird, we normally never get this kind of thing. I wonder if this is going to become more frequent here.

You know (you don't know), I was sitting on the toilet the other day, thinking about how even a minor earthquake could render my hundred-year-old apartment uninhabitable. And then we got a little earthquake, and my apartment is fine. How about that?
I just kinda wish I had been outside when this happened. I rode it out in bed, thinking the guys downstairs had loaded their washing machine incorrectly.

I love how everyone was freaking out over the 5.9 in Virginia, while there was a 5.3 that happoned yesterday in Colorado, which apperentally got overlooked.

First thing that came to mind for me. Till I realized we're on the ground floor and 12+ feet away from the washer which was empty at the time.

Oh, and I almost forgot: Apperentally the Carolinas have a good chance at getting hit by a hurricane later this week. And enjoy the aftershocks. They can be surprising.

Some of my stuff rattled for a minute (New York), but that was about it.
Oh and that hurricane (Irene I believe) is totally going to give us Northeasters some serious rain this weekend.

Well I thought someone was pushing my chair from behind, then I noticed the whole floor was shaking and the light fixtures were swinging. It's kind of a weird feeling, like vertigo but right on the ground.

I had just gotten back from work like five minutes prior, and didn't feel it at all. Outer Detroit area, btw.

Supposed to hit Saturday. Happens all the time here. Should be gone before I leave for Germany though.

I didn't feel anything, but then I realized that I might have actually heard it, depending on what time it went off.
My roommate and I were both trying to figure out what was making this loud banging thumping type noise sounding like something rattling downstairs, but couldn't find anything that was making it.

Was it good for you too? :D
Felt it in NJ. Was waiting at a red light and my car started rocking. First thing I thought was "guess I need a new transmission", because my car has a history of shaking. Then I drove back to my dad's store and he and a bunch of people were standing outside. I was like, "you felt that too?"
Knocked some product off the shelves, but nothing crazy. You should have heard our local radio coverage. We all thought it was the coolest thing.
