So today I found out that one of the stores on my way home sells Jones Soda. I had heard of this from Americans for years and was curious about what was apparently the best soft drink on the planet (and hey it uses cane sugar so unlike most other American sodas it wouldn't taste like it's been rinsed through an old man's taint) so I went to have a closer look. then I saw something. They had grape soda. This is important because proper grape soda that doesn't actually taste like grapes, but tastes like awesome grape flavouring has not been available in my city since Midori Soda stopped selling stuff here in 1998. I have waited THIRTEEN YEARS for grape soda.

It was worth the wait. It was as delicious as I remembered. Fuck I LOVE grape soda. So yeah as for a topic what's everyone else's favourite soft drink/opinions on soft drink etc etc etc

Well, I want to try grape soda now. I usually go with Pepsi out of lacking imagination. At least since the local brand Zeunert's started making only julmust, which is only available at xmas and quite expensive. But they used to put an intriguing personal spin on all the common soda flavors. Ah, now I miss their funny shaped bottles. . .

I was practically bottle-fed on Diet Pepsi, and it's still my go-to drink (at least one bottle a day, these days).

Orange soda also has its advantages, not least of which is the way you can make a tasty orange-soda float with it. (You can also do it with strawberry soda. I wonder if grape soda lends itself to that treatment as well, or if it would just taste awful.)

Jones is pretty sweet. Like, too sweet at times. Hardcore sugar stuff, I guess. Not that I have anything against sweet drinks (my favorite soft drink is probably either Dr. Pepper, Cherry Crush, or Vanilla Coke) but fuck, it's like somebody took a regular drink, dumped about 3 packets of sweetener in it, and gave it a good shake.

Jones is also kind of really expensive.

I usually don't trust Americans when it comes to picking which unhealthy food to eat, not since that Five Guys fiasco. Cripes, those things are like... grease dipped in a little bit of burger.

Izze sodas are fantastic, especially the peach and pomegranate varieties. The pomegranate one tastes best if you pair it with a slice of chocolate cake or a brownie.


Also tasty: Mixing Sprite/Sierra Mist with grape or cranberry juice.

And Jarritos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jarritos) is also pretty good. EXCELLENT orange soda, and Tamarind too. They HAD watermelon once, but dropped it. Shame, I kind of liked that one on a hot day.

I love the pineapple one :D...also...watermelon? What? How come I didn't know about it? D:. Vanilla coke is my favorite cola but, they only sold it here for a limited time :<. Also, I'll avoid anything with an artificial (calorie-free) sweetener because:


It'll leave a weird aftertaste
The damn sweetener overcomes the actual flavor
It'll taste completely different to the exact same thing with sugar, sometimes, it'll just taste weird, the rest of the time, it'll taste awful (stupid stevia being added to stuff with actual sugar)


So, I don't drink diet stuff, or eat calorie-free stuff :/

I like spicy jamaican style ginger beer. I used to buy the President's Choice brand from No Frills for pretty cheap when I lived in Ontario, but haven't really looked for an equivalent here. Cherry coke is good too.

I kind of miss working as a barista because I had access to a bunch of different fruit syrups that I'd add club soda to to make my own drinks, and if I wanted vanilla or cherry coke I'd just add some of the syrup.
