No, seriously...

it's called AISOS (whose website is weirdly safe for viewing at work... but i'm still not putting the link up) is the first school devoted to teach you sexual skills (with many pratical classes) or to enhance whatever you already have ( )

AISOS is Europe’s first school geared towards the development of sexual skills and techniques. As opposed to most schools dealing with sexuality, AISOS’ core education is not theoretical, but very practical. AISOS is newly founded and will start in the fall 2011.

The courses at AISOS cover everything from sexual techniques to the history of sexuality.

At AISOS we want you do develop practical skills that will change not only your life, but also the lives of the people you decide to partner with.

In short, we teach the art of giving and receiving sexual pleasure.

And their program is as such (including fees)

The fee for one semester is €1.400. This provides you with a bed in a double room, three meals a day Monday-friday (there are in addition a self service cafeteria at the premises). Weekends we will serve no meals but the students have access to the kitchen and there are fridges available. Additional €500 provides you with a single room in the annex.
We have different activites for the students during the weekends. Music nights, film nights and sport activities and the first and the last weekend we have an student evening and we appreciate if our student attend.

The courses are mainly held in german but guest lectures could be held in English.
Some education material are in english so even though it’s not a requirement we recommend our student to have a basic understanding in the english language.
We offer our students to lend bikes for exercise and excursions.
Each course is followed by an exam and in order to get your final exam you need to have passed all exams.

Contraception will be available at no extra cost.

Weekends courses cost €250 and includes two nights in a double room and two meals a day at a nearby tavern (alcohol is not included in the meals) and a basic breakfast at the school.

I would also like to add this snipet from the website

The students of AISOS also receive a free iPad that comes with our limited edition iPad app pre-installed.

Austria... you are now officially awesome in my book.

First a sex theme park and now a school for sex ed?

Seems like Europe is getting more and more relaxed about sex.

Mark my words, if this is allowed to continue, orgies will happen spontaneously in the streets, women (foul temptresses that they are) will engage youths in under-age, pre-marital sex! GAY MARRIAGE! FALL OF A NATION! CORRUPTION! DESTRUCTION! sjfsejfiof

Japan has you covered on the second one. The first one... Meh, wouldn't work out quite like I would think it could.

This just sounds like they were finding a legal loophole to run a brothel or a sex club or something.

Personally, I don't really a problem with this. From what I'm told, Austria was one of the more uptight countries regarding sex (Like the US), but eh, it's their country. If they want to, let them. Might be a fun place for couples wanting to rekindle their love lives.

If I get a valid degree as a sexologist or something I'd so sign up, because this actually sounds fun. The only problem might be that from the looks of it I would probably be forced to have sex with a total stranger, and while I'm generally open when it comes to sexual things I'd just like to have fries a relationship with my sex.

I like my sex to not come with mysteriously appearing STDs/STIs.

Edit: I don't have anything against a sex school or whatever, it just personally makes my stomach my churn. The sex with strangers part, if that's a thing there.

I wonder if there is an option for couples to sign up and whether I will be in a couple in the foreseeable future.

I'll teach you dudes lessons if you want. All I charge is some smokes and a wee tipple. Bargain of the year.

E: Somebody at the airport is offering smokes for like a few bucks. That might be the deal of the century but it's not the bargain of the year.

Prostitution is already legal in some European countries.

Seems like Europe is getting more and more relaxed about sex.
Europe has always (in recent memory, that is) been pretty relaxed about sex, at least compared with say the US.

e: The sex with strangers part
Once you study with them and have sex with them, I'd say they stop being strangers.

Prostitution being legal does not equal brothels (or soliciting or procuring for that matter) being legal. For example, in Ontario prostitution is legal but brothels, soliciting, and procuring are not, although they are trying to change that. (FYI I support legalization of brothels etc. In case my post comes off as biased against that)
I'm on my phone so I dont't particularly feel like looking up what Austria's specific laws are in regards to prostitution, but no I wouldn't be surprised if it were already legal. However my impression is that attitudes towards sex vary widely in europe depending on the country. For example my best friend recently traveled to portugal and spain and said that she had trouble finding tampons at the store and when she finally bought them the pharmacist told her she was being sinful etc. Because apparently they treat wearing tampons like losing your virginity. I think the same thing applies to the USA, it's a big country with varied attitudes depending on whcih state you're in.
Anyways this is a big digression. I don't really feel one way or the other about it.

Haha, I don't know what pharmacy your friend went to but I could never imagine that happening here in Madrid.

I think it was in portugal, actually, which makes more sense.

I'd really be interested in the gender ratio here. Though I suppose they probably get enough applicants to keep it 50/50.

See that's what I was wondering. I was also trying to figure out exactly how they room people up. I imagine it would make more sense to make the dorms co-ed, that way you have a study buddy right there requiring no awkward hunting down of a mate/study partner. Though I imagine roommates wouldn't be under any obligation to partake of relations just for the sake of study if they already have someone picked out.

God that whole school is just loads of awkward waiting to happen, curse my American upbringing for making sex a big deal.

I'm actually beginning to think that this school could be a great setting for a sitcom. I'd write it (Though, I'd ask some of you to co-write). NPF surely would star in it. But who'd fund it?

So basically a bunch of 20-something nerds hanging around, making puns about anal sex?

It'd be pretty much normal forum life with a laugh track.
Because every sitcom needs a laugh track.

I was more thinking of a mixed cast. I'm sure not all of us look like total nerds. It would be comedic in nature, but still with the occasional drama played straight.

Humour would rely less on sex puns, because that's just what everyone expects and all the other shows do it already but more on character dynamics and general dialogue, of course puns will not be completely absent, in fact it can be one character's gimmick. We'll call him Todd, nicknamed hot rod todd. If she's female maybe... dunno have to think of something.

Oh and actors who look good shirtless don't get any sex scenes. I will also try to sneak in the occasional dick.

Eh, I can see it being cancelled in its first season during the pilot episode. It'd make a nice extra on the NPF dvd though.

Fine, let's make a 20 minute episode for the NPF DVD but also pitch it to some studio who does stuff like that. Shows I mean.

Just to make a worm into someone's brain about this, but sooner or later you people are going to end up recording some sort of "forum webcast" that will be either incredible horrible or horribly incredible.

bottom line, it will be horrible to a certain degree

Great idea, we can just release mini episodes, scenes that can stand on their own, but when put together they become a whole episode, which we'll use as a pilot once a studio picks up on this magnificent idea.

Isn't that how Sanctuary started out? Because Sanctuary is pretty excellent, and if it worked for them then I can approve of this plan.

WAS pretty excellent, now they're grasping at straws (I drew the fucking line at the singing episode). Just make sure we're not pulling knowledge out of our ass to use immediately and instead slowly hint to it over time.

To the original topic, at least now it'd be possible to back up that claim you made at the bar. "Yeah, I totally got a PhD in sex. It's on my wall."
