Well the world hasn't ended (yet) and yesterday was new years....So what is your resolution?
as for myself, I tried something entirely new to me. Instead of creating my own resolution I played a game with some friends and family members. We would all write down a resolution that we would want to do put it into a hat and then draw a resolution from the hat.
We had some silly ones like "prepare for the end of the world" and "dance more" but what I got is kinda interesting. It might be the first new years resolution i would want to do...
I got "Write a book by the end of the year/world"
I might try. Who knows maybe I am a good writer.

This year I am doing things because I want to do them and not because I am expected to. Subtle, but important difference.

I'm gonna finish my album I started a over year ago. Like... yeah...I can't just go from two per year to one every two years just like that. That would suck. I'll start tomorrow maybe.
Also on the list: Stop procrastinating.

I don't have a resolution since I never end up doing them.
But I guess not finding a way to be a bigger failure then I am now sounds like something within my reach. Though if the world is to end, then perfecting my swordsmen ship is a must. That and buying a shotgun and zombie repellent.

I resolve to eat less candy and write more. Maybe I'll finish my book, maybe I'll dig out a slick muscular washboard. But you know, no pressure.

Start an LP series. Or a webcomic. Or something.
Finish a novel. Make More Money.

1) Do a Complete Let's Play, from Start to Finish.
2) Drop 60 lbs through healthy diet and excercise, combined with increased visits to my doctor to make sure I'm not doing anything dangerously unhealthy to my body. Ideally, drop 80 lbs. [current weight: 255 lbs, at 5'11", down from 265 in December. I'm just over the obese line, I'd like to get down to Average.]
3) Attend a minimum of 6 activist rallies for things I support.
4) Assist at least 40 people with computer-related issues.
5) Finalize our GDD for our software company.
6) Earn a minimum of $30,000 of taxable income under the standard tax bracket, not the capital gains bracket.

My New Year's Resolution: Deriving exceptional personal pleasure from the fact that everyone ludicrous enough to establish these lofty goals for themselves will inevitably fail in their quests to achieve the impossible. =P
...Nah, I'm not quite that big a bag of dicks, though to be quite honest I do find everyone's sudden commitment to self-improvement at a predefined date and time in January (and too often, their subsequent abandonment of said ideals in a matter of weeks) quite hysterical in a Schadenfreude (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCQGQ5qBQTA) sense.
And, on the topic of unattainable goals!
My New Year's Resolution is the same as it's been for the past eight years: Lose my goddamn motherfucking virginity.
(Spoiler Alert: It won't happen this year, either. Maybe I just want you all to fail to take my mind off my own inevitable failure.)

I think we both know that your answer lies either in the pants of a gentleman, or at the Bunny Ranch in Nevada.

The Bunny Ranch I am referring to is most definitely located in Nevada.
