OLEDs are totally where it's at. They replace both light bulbs and windows. Plus I've actually participated in some experiments concerning PEDOT which is one of the leading contenders for OLEDs. The future is coming.

That was two years ago and they haven't perfected roll to roll (R2R) processing yet. R2R processing lets you make continuous sheets of display in exactly the same way you print newspaper, or money, or conventional wall paper. This allows you to make massive quantities of display for a few cents per square foot. At least that is the goal.

every technology starts crazy stupid and crazy expensive, then some crazy dude pays fo it and slowly but surely, it gets funding. Then it changes, then it gets more cost efficient, smaller and easier to produce untill it reaches mass market levels.
