Did you watch Reboot? No? Then you are a terrible person.

Terrible.

If you are terrible, and you didn't watch the show, it was a sterotypical 90's CG... thing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyJD2PL6408).

Here's the thing. All the characters are files in some dude's 286 PC. When said dude plays games:

His files - that is, the files that apparently aren't part of the game cube - are the enemies. If the guy wins, his opponents turn into Nulls, these little slug things. (http://images.wikia.com/reboot/images/8/82/Nullza843r.jpg) So here's my question.(s)

At what point does 286 dude realize that he's terrible at games? Or, when he wins games, his computer starts imploding?
Bob comes from 'The Net.' Presumably he's some sort of virus scanning thing. Why is he so terrible at hunting viruses?
Viruses are malicious programs that delete and/or change stuff. While Megabyte and Hexadecimal fit this to a tee, why are megabytes viruses? Shouldn't there be more? And what about Hack and Slash? Aren't they and Hexadecimal just.... font?
What is Phong/Fong/Feng Shui a sterotypical wise vaugely Asian guru when nationalities shouldn't exist in the computer program world? Why does Dot have a diner?
Aren't most programs equal? Why does Hexadecimal, a character, have a cat?
What is Mouse? Is she a mouse driver? Why is she southern what with katanas? Can my mouse have a katana?
They're all computer programs, why are most of them rectangular prisms and others are humanoid?

Why is the badass virus a French lady? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idEgFgT5u8E&feature=related)
Why is the best tool at the disposal of the Guardians a 'Glitch?'

Reboot, like Tron or any other piece of fiction that purports to take place inside of a 'digital' world , uses ideas about technology incorrectly for the purposes of the narrative. Either that or they suggest a quantum level world supported by computer-technology wherein such narratives may occur.

Since, in Reboot's case, the games are clearly literal, the latter excuse kind of falls apart.

I remember that show totally changed when Megabyte became Gigabyte or whatever and there was some kind of actual long-scale plot going on with a war or something.

It was like...a reboot.
