Grow a ponytail! I think it will make you look very much retro-chic. Also Vintage... somehow...

Also, have you considered a beard? You are a dashing fellow, that much has to be said. But i'm thinking mutton chops . Y'know, go crazy a little!

I want to say something about this, but the magnitude of this particular sentence being typed by Fifth has blown my mind.

Hey Brian I have this business idea that I think is just fantastic. I just need another $1000, which, I swear, I will not spend on hookers and cocaine this time.

Suggestion: Buy everyone a jetpack.

Alternate suggestion: Buy me a jetpack and use the rest of the money to genetically engineer unicorns.

I say just streamline the whole thing and put jetpacks on unicorns.

And then release them into the wild!

Brilliant! Because who needs pegasi (pegasuses? pegasii?) when you could have unicorns with jetpacks? Mighty herds of jetpacorns roaming the plains! Soaring through the skies! Truly it would be a great and magical world then! Unicorn jetpacking is the transportation of the future.

Come on, Brian! Get on this!

But what about emissions? Do you have any reasonable estimates as to the average jetpack-corn's carbon hoofprint?

And anyone who wants their own jetpack can go on a Unicorn hunt.

They emit a constant stream of awesome.

This thread is wonderful. It will go down in history for putting the words "the average jetpack-'corn's carbon hoofprint" in that order alone.

I'm worried we keep forgetting to consider unicorn insurance (http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/04/09) though.

I thought about that, but don't unicorn horns have healing properties anyway? So any insurance one might legally require would be strictly for property damage, like hoof scuffs, horn scratches, and nibbled plants. (Wait, what do unicorns eat?) Not needing to worry overmuch about injury claims would theoretically keep costs pretty low.

I'm referring to insurance in case your unicorn gets hurt. >_>

Satan's Onion

I read it, but I'd always thought that unicorn injuries could be remedied by the unicorn's own innate healing properties. (If so, Gabe totally got swindled.) That said, I defer to more knowledgeable unicorn experts than I on the matter; if unicorns are immune to their own magic, which is certainly possible, some system of unicorn veterinary treatment and unicorn-injury insurance is absolutely necessary.

Well, I can think of four stories involving unicorns in substantial parts, and two of them have the unicorns being brutally slaughtered for people to make use of their magic parts. Mostly they don't even have healing powers, except they can detect and cure poison with their horn. Probably ties in with unicorn legends being based on rhinos and the dumbass folk wisdom that holds rhino horns can cure certain afflictions.

Rhinos are too heavy, though. Their packs would require an unfeasible amount of jets.

So does the unfeasibility curve loop back around to feasible if you want to step up to jetpack-narwhals instead?

The unicorns of the sea!

Geminex

Are we talking normal jetpacks here? Or undersea jetpacks? Because, with that horn, I bet we could get narwhals to supercavitate underwater.

They would be the terrors of the sea.

Rhino Pegasuses would be pretty cool. Should they have feather wings or large bat wings?

kyrtuck

I'd prefer bat wings, to distance them from the overly sterotypical winged horses.
