So whatsisface asked whatsherface in a recent thread about whatserfaces allignement. My interest was piqued. Piqued, I say. I checked online, and the D&D peoples have a silly little online quiz thing that measures your allignment.

SUPER SILLY QUIZ THING HO! (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20001222b)

I got neutral good, which based on this site (http://easydamus.com/alignment.html) means:

A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them.

Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order.

Neutral good can be a dangerous alignment when it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Among other things.

Odd that I only really research things in depth when I'm innately curious and it's not for an academic endeavour. I like that word: endeavour. It's a good word. I should do a thread about words next. That'd be cool.

ANYWAY!

There's really nothing to do with this thread but discuss tabletop RPG's and post the results of the SSIQH! which I expect everyone will inevitable do. SO HEY LURKERS, YOU'VE GOT A REASON TO POST! Though I expect you won't. (Prove me wrong.)

I've never really RP'd afore, (shut it it's a word, we'll discuss it in my future word thread) and the few times that I did have been without a proper setup. I did do a proper tabletop thing once, but the group barred liquor (which was a terrible decision, and the pace was far too slow for my liking. I had to roll out my character, then roll out my moves, and roll out my damage.

I began to feel like an Autobot.

Oh, if only Mirai was still here for that one.

ANYWAY!

I was looking for something a little more action-packed, maybe some steam-punk thing because that's in fashion these days. Oh, also, some dude what posted his D&D webcomic on here a while back, and that was pretty rad, so that dude should post that link in here because it'd be on topic and re-introduce a rad webcomic.

Neutral

A neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. She doesn’t feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most neutrality is a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil. After all, she would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, she’s not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. The common phrase for neutral is "true neutral." Neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion.

Lawful Neutral

A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. The common phrase for lawful neutral is "true lawful." Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. Huh. Not what I expected to get.

Chaotic Good

A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he’s kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society. Chaotic good is the best alignment you can be because it combines a good heart with a free spirit.
eh, it's probably accurate enough. I expected NG.

Or, as that other site states it:
A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government.

Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot.

Lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.

That works for me, I guess.

The bard I'm playing as that I thought was true neutral was labeled chaotic good. My entire world view has been shattered.
