Amercia.

Read it again. It's not wrong,

So... i wasn't sure this qualified for the "Republicans are evil" thread or not... if it is, please move it. certainly didn't really qualified as news, i just think it's funny as hell, so here you go...

Mitt Romney releases a Iphone app for his campaign. A Simple Photo overlayer that lets you place catchphrases over your photos and share them. Problem is... the overlay "a better America" came out as Amercia. Internet got wind of it, and even though it's already been fixed... the snafu is funny ::V:

So, thanks to Tumblr, enjoy

Oh man, look, it's the exact same text plastered on increasingly stupid images. Gee, I sure will laugh at all of them because the joke never gets old. Pfft, you amercians and your objectively inferior sense of humour, come to Europe where we have the really funny stuff.

Just stay out of Germany in that case, okay?

EDIT: Okay, this one would be fantastic if it said "Were with Mitt" instead of "We're" http://amerciaiswithmitt.tumblr.com/post/24045865627

And it's 'ARE our children learning'.You use quotation marks, not apostrophes, to denote a quote. Also, the period never goes outside the quotation marks at the end of a sentence, unless there is a parenthetical citation for the quote, in which case the period goes after the citation. We'll let starting your sentence with "and" slide, for the most part.

Examples:

And it's "ARE our children learning."

Concerning artistic freedom, Fletcher offers the following: "There is no such thing as Freedom in Art [sic], writing, game design, or really any form of media. Anyone who says otherwise needs to grow up and open their eyes" (2012).

Realistically you should separate "And" and the rest of the sentence with a comma.

And, its "ARE our children learning."

Realistically you should separate "And" and the rest of the sentence with a comma.

And, its "ARE our children learning.""And" is for joining clauses, not for starting a sentence, and the comma goes before it, as just demonstrated. Why do you think I use the word "also" all the time?

I think you'll find that in Finalnd the period often goes after the quotation marks, unless the quoted segment is already supposed to end in a period and I don't remember the rule for that, but I always get it right 'cause I just know where to put it.

no no no iSo, I googled "Frustrated Grammar Nazi" because I've drawn enough responses to posts today and yesterday, and I didn't find anything that worked, but I found this:

That pretty much covers this thread.

Stephen Colbert's "Amercia the Beatiful" was the best thing I saw revolving around this.

OH BEATIFUL FOR SPACOUS SKIES (http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/414595/may-30-2012/tip-wag---gay-bar-bachelorette-bans---mitt-romney-s-iphone-app)
