View Full Version : And Suddenly I'm an Engineer! or The College Graduate Thread!

So after 5 long years of school (it's a school program, I didn't fuck up THAT badly), this lazy person has now graduated from college. And with that, comes drinking. Lots of drinking. And job searching, but that's another thing entirely.

But the fun part? I'm an engineer! A mechanical one! I get to work machines and make drawings and stuff! And I guarantee the quality will be above average! Most likely!

But all the stuff about me aside, which other people have graduated this year? I'll try and get a drink in for all of you.

Congrats, Lazy!!! That's fantastic!

Now then. We need a dispenser right here. Get on that, Engineer.

They have degrees for engineers now? Don't they just hand some wrenches to some monkeys?

What good is that title, if you're not driving a train?

Go get a train.

Congrats Lazy! Welcome to the wide world job searching, hopefully you get one quicker than I did (the market's not so bad off so you might be ok). What kind of field are you hoping to get into with an ME degree? I might be able to send something your way if I hear about it.

Congrats. You get the honor of becoming something many people can only dream to be.

Would that work, or just collapse in on itself?

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, so it would, at most, collapse in on itself. The magnet will move towards the cart at the same force that the cart moves in towards the magnet.

What an incredible and revolutionary design with this new and inovative template to work from we have solved the need for oil!

No, not even in the face of Armageddon. It never works.

The magnet will attract the truck and at some point the tension will transfer to the rig holding the magnet, until it tips over or breaks. So for it to work, you would need a much heavier and firmer rig, but that would make it so heavy that it would tip over or not move at all, which forces you to add a stronger magnet and more weight in the back... ad infinitum.

It's a perpetual self-fucking system

No. That. That is not how it works.

That is not even how it doesn't work.

Do i look like an Engineer?!

The problem is you need a magnet at the back as well. Otherwise the truck will be unbalanced.

As a man who's been out of college for a year, Lazy, let me give you the heaps of heavy experience I've gained from the working world.

It sucks. Get out while you can.

After being out of college a year myself, I can say this:

Pyros only gets by via nepotism and the spare change of the generous.

Only $5 a day can help support an Insane Fire Cat God Bachelor of English's Sundrop addiction.

Also, 9 to 5/6/7/8/9 sucks when you don't have your own car, and the person who does have the car likes to work late.

The correct solution is to strap the magnet UNDERNEATH the car, so that the side facing the ground is the same as the earth's natural magnetism, so that the car is pushed upwards slightly. Therefore, the car is "lighter" and suffers less friction from the force of gravity, making it move forward much easier, thus saving gas.

Also, the entirely assembly needs to be on fire, because everyone knows that when something is on fire it moves faster.

No wait, swap the magnet for a ghost magnet. The ghosts will drag along your car as they fight the magnets pull.
