No offense, but can I turn it off? It's really hard for me to do stuff with the forums like this.

I think it's pretty. I hadn't been on the forums in a couple days so it really surprised me.

Ryong and Blues haven't said anything about happy stuff or halloweens to me. This thread is a lie.

i kinda like what you did with some of the borders, can we keep that stuff when we go back to vanilla?

also keep the background color black. i find it highly amusing that krylo's silly gray name doesn't hide itself anymore.

I do like the center-aligned name/title/avatar bit.

Yeah, it'd be nice if that set up stays after everything goes back to normal. Atleast as an optional thing.

Count me in on the "keep the layout, change the colors" bandwagon.

Also, we need to make something like this for Christmas.

I've changed my mind. Up with the status quo!

So are we still going to get the centered titles, name set up at some point in the future?

Thank god, a return to normalcy. Or at least, whatever counts for normal round here.

okay i dont really care about krylo's dumb grey name but i liked that layout

can we at least have it as a skin or something (obviously omitting the garish halloween buttons)? it was nice and tidy.

Can you [and others] expand on this? Like, specifically, "neat and tidy" implies there is a dislike of the organization of this theme and that it is somehow confusing, cluttered, and/or lacking in clear organization of page elements. Comparing it to the Halloween theme, I fail to see much of a difference once you look past the colors.

Honestly, considering the actual layout, the only difference was the centering of user information on the left and giving a different background color to the stuff below the avatars. The other differences in the theme were essentially all color and icon changes [and, of course, the lack of our custom code and names and the like].

Basically I'd like to have a concrete idea of what people think they want with respect to any potential theme changes before I shoot it down or decide to implement it.

For what it's worth I've already tested a copy of this theme with center-aligned names, titles, and avatars. That's not difficult to do or anything, and despite not liking it personally I don't see why I can't maintain both versions of the theme and allow either to be selected by everyone at their preference.

Other note:
This Halloween skin, as mentioned, didn't have any of our custom code (many of the glitter and colored names, the chat link, the member ads, that kind of stuff). I saw no reason to go through the trouble of editing the theme to include all of that just for a holiday forum skin change. However if there is enough positive reaction to the idea of holiday skins, I will edit any holiday skins we use so that they can be re-used in the future without the loss of these features / cosmetics.

EDIT:
Oh, and any blame should be placed solely on me if you did not like this style change. I found a Halloween theme that looked pretty well polished and uploaded it and made it the forum theme for the holiday weekend before any of the other staff knew I was doing that. So don't hold any of them in contempt or anything, as I kind of abused my admin power for something I thought would be fun.

If you did like the style change, please extend your thanks to the entire mod team for bringing a little fun to the forum this Halloween and let us know if we should do similar for other holidays.

In short synk is making the necessary moves to become dictator-for-life and you should all be ashamed for not pledging your undying loyalty and swearing fealty for all time.

I for one welcome our new red-text overlord.

Synk I think the theme was pretty neat. It would be interesting to see this done on some more holidays (I know making a new theme for every holiday would be rather tedious) like X-Mas/Winter Holiday or St Patrick's day, ect.

I read that as X-Men first. Now I want a X-Men holiday and forum theme.

I have every faith in the ability of the mod staff to provide nice, clean and functional holiday-appropriate forum layouts. As for synk taking full credit blame for the Halloween theme, I can honestly say I'm not surprised; synk has a knack for such things, I've noticed.
