What's in Europe, anyway?

France = Wine
Russia = Vodka
UK = Scotch
Germany = Schnapps

My point is that the General Topic title has been weird since before I left.

But, I was looking through old threads and I was reminded of that one time I tried to join the military 'cause my life was turning to plotz. (It's a Yiddish term, you non-Europeans wouldn't understand.) Because I'm a pasty face white, privileged, wannbe poet, I wanted to go into the Priesthood. My uncle was a priest and me aunt was a nun. It seemed apropos. (A French term.) Then I thought that because I lacked discipline, or any sort of motivation, I should join the army! (Also, because my life was falling apart, and in tragedies they tend to join the French Foreign Legion.) Now, I think, (keep in mind, it's been years that I've thought of signing on to anything that's not medical) I want to be a writer. I've heard that I've got to sleep on a lot of couches, 'afore I can be recognized as a "proper writer."

I was wondering what you guys really want or wanted to be; fantastic or otherwise. But nothing European, because apparently tjey're into vodka, which is the poles. What is your favoured job, dream or otherwise?

(And fifth, I'm too drunk to reference the specific job post, but I know you what when had pretty girls in with southern accents all up ins, so what's up with that?endparenthesis

In my youth I wanted to be a lawyer. Everything is corrupt as fuck down here and I wanted to do something about it. Then I decided I wanted to work in politics, and try to change the rules so that we would be less corrupt.

Now I just want to be an international transient.

As a kid I wanted to be a pilot. Now I don't really have a dream job.

i still really do want to come one day where i can pay my bills just with my writing...

at one point i really, really wanted to be a historian, but i learned that where i live there was no money in that, so i was looking into Psychology but learned that what i really wanted was Psychiatry, but not enough to go through medical school...

I still want to write my books and make them good enough and big enough for an international release though, that's the dream!

I wanted to be an inventor. I wanted to create useful things, to make the lives of people easier but mostly to build really convoluted machinery for simple tasks. Instead I'm a mediocre musician who works in customer service.

I literally never wanted to be anything. I wanted to do science when I was eight, then when I got older I wanted to make comics, then have a lot of money, then live without being dependent on money, and now I have come to terms with the fact that all I want to do is write. Well, that and raise a family but I guess we're focused on jobs. Still, I don't want to be anything.

I've always wanted to enter politics, either as a politician or working directly for one. I don't have any grand reasons for this, I've just always wanted to.

I've had a few dream jobs.
And my latest and most persistent is becoming a train conductor.

I LIKE TRAINS!

Also, becoming a superhero, but a conductor is more reasonable.

...Dammit, why wasn't I born into the Claudian dynasty two thousand years ago?!?

Do jack shit and get paid for it. Which I guess counts as I'm on disability.

Though in all honesty... since I was little, I've always wanted to be a racer.

To be CISSP ( Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certified, among other IT security certs, and be part of a tiger team.

That would just be the balls, it would

Ranskassa juodaan viiniä,
Saksassa olutta ja Venäjällä vodkaa!
Suomessa juodaan kaikkea,
siis malja sille nostakaa!

Everybody from the tri-state area is more than familiar with Yiddish terminology.

I love my job now, probably wouldn't mind being paid more towards what doctors make since I kind of do what they do, just at 65mph with bumps and stuff.

When I was younger and really until I went away to college, I really wanted to be an artist. Not just making drawings for fun, but working for Marvel comics and drawing for them.

Man being a bum is hard work. Man you fucks don't even know. Whereas I'm going to be an art thief- the easiest job in the world.

In my youth I wanted to be a lawyer. Everything is corrupt as fuck down here and I wanted to do something about it. Then I decided I wanted to work in politics, and try to change the rules so that we would be less corrupt.

Now I just want to be an international transient.

That's so precious.

Roman Emperor.

This explains so much!
Also are we mad hating the Julians out of history nowadays?

People dislike them because they actually set up the dictatorship. The fact that they were the only ones actually any good at dictating is ignored in favor of dudes who were not only dictators but shitty at it.

Unless you mean Julian specifically in which case he sounded like he kind of knew what he was doing but it was way too late.

When I was a kid and didn't understand money I wanted to be an artist. Unfortunately I don't really enjoy making any kind of profitable art, and feck making something I love my job anyways. So I suppose if someone wanted to throw me a living wage for making unmarketable art that would be my dream job.

It was more that it is always referred to as the Julio-Claudian dynasty because it was an intense mixture of both the Julian and the Claudian family and I was wondering whether this was a Fox Newseque rebranding to diminish say Augustus because he put in a lot of programs to help the poor whereas the more Claudian later emperors had none of that shit.

When I was really little, I told people I wanted to be an environmentalist when I grew up because as I understood the title, it meant you saved the world from pollution like Captain Planet and the Planeteers.

Then as a teenager I wanted to be a writer. I told myself I'd write and publish a novel by the time I was 23.

I'm 26 now and I couldn't even come up with a solid idea for NaNoWriMo. Wow.

Nowadays... I dunno. I think my dream job would either be a novel writer, a literature or history professor, or a museum curator.

But really, at this point, I'll settle for any job that I can actually look forward to coming in and working at every day.

MY dream job is a nice job that pays enough to get by, 8hr a day, 6 days a week with optinal time off passed on how long I was working there work shift, and close to home.

Because so long as I can keep making games for PC/Andriod, that's a good enough for me.

Also no kids, cause just no, my little sister is enough. And the less I have to worry about, the easier her teen years will be to deal with.

Will I stay single? Seeing as I'm loving it still, hells yeah I'm staying single. Unless I really need the extra income.
