I'll be in contact with synk about owner/leadership moving forward. I'm not forcing synk to take it up because for all we know synk has better things to do too. I won't leave you guys twisting in the wind and I will make sure that all applicable logins and/or passwords are handed off, domains are transferred or whatever necessary. I'll continue hosting the site on my webserver free of charge for as long as needed.

I don't know what else to say since I feel kind of weird about this, but I guess ultimately I am just outgrowing NPF and moving on and I don't want to hold you guys to the standard I set if it doesn't mesh with the direction the community is taking.

Right now it's kind of important for me to have a bit of distance though, it's been a bit much this year and I don't...I don't need, this guilty feeling I have, of watching everyone recycle the same arguments, and feeling at once responsible for lacking a steady hand while also resenting people.

I have too much stress and lately NPF has been adding to it. It was always intended to reduce, to be a fun and welcoming kind of place, not stressful. I led this place, and whether I like it or not it ended up where it has under my leadership and I feel too responsible for watching every person that leaves, like it was a personal failure on my part. Every time someone left because of a disagreement or whatever. The only way I can alleviate that is if I can tell myself it's not my fault. I have trouble doing that though, so I'm taking the coward's way and basically fucking off.

I'll miss...I'll miss my belief of what I once thought this place was supposed to be. I'll miss most of you guys, too. I won't miss my failure to foster a healthy thriving community and environment though, I hope whomever comes forward as the next captain of this ship does a better job than me of balancing the expectations and realities.

As to what you are doing be the cowards way out...don't think that for a minute shiney. If you are getting no fun and/or worse crap you don't need right now added to your life, then you have the right to dump out of you life what is giving you issues and headaches. If that is NPF, then so be it. Never was it your fault though that shit happens here sometimes and people leave.

Everyone makes choices and I choose to stay here despite me having issues myself with people on occasion. I stay because in the end, you guys give me a place I can be myself and vent things when I need to.

I don't think what's been happening was your fault. Self-regulation is an important part of internet communities and it's a quality not everyone has - and it isn't exactly something you learn and then never screw up. It's also the whole deal of "oh hey, it's x person, here comes the spam and snide remarks that no one's going to do shit about" or "hey y made a stupid thread, he'll never stop being an idiot" that ends up happening when everyone's mostly known eachother for a while.
