Just thought I'd wish you all happy holidays (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BSe1pUKgM0) this year. I know there's the Secret Santa thread, but that's not the appropriate place to discuss the flying gizmos that I bought for the two youngest ladies on my shopping list - my cousin and my niece.

I tried to get everything done early this year, and as such, I'm going to be sitting next to a toasty heater and sipping scotch as I watch everyone else rush around. The downside is that my older brothers won't be coming home, they've got family issues and busy work schedules that they're working out.

I hope you all are having happy holidays!

For Christmas I resolved to not get into arguments or be snarky in any way.

Oh yeah... Resolutions... we are getting up to Nee Year resolutions now, aren't we?

I'm using 2013 to do all the fun shit i ever wanted to do but never could, so in 2014, i'll focus on being responsible with my stuff... time to finally get my driver's license and that square of land to my name and stuff...

Managed to watch Bad Santa, Christmas Vacation, AND A Christmas Story amongst all the rest of the festivities. We just watched A Christmas Story several times, as that is the ritual Turner Broadcasting has foisted upon us. Plus it's just a great background movie.

I worked on Christmas and Christmas Eve, so we celebrated the holiday at my house today instead, and it was quite lovely. We have a weird family tradition of buying a panettone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panettone) and then slicing it up and using it to make insanely delicious french toast for Christmas breakfast ("Healthy food?" What is this "healthy food" of which you speak? We know only of Italian fruitcake dipped in egg and pan-fried to golden perfection.). Then we opened presents and carried on our other family tradition of spending the holiday watching movies and playing board games for hours. (This year's best quote: "Hey! Pictionary is NOT a contact sport!")

I got some really nice gifts from my family, including all of the Emma Peel episodes of the 1960's British spy show The Avengers, a knitting loom for making socks, and an Alyx Vance Black Mesa Hoodie (http://store.valvesoftware.com/product.php?i=C0111). Also, CHOWARD'S Violet Mints. Mmmmmmm violet mints, they smell so amazing...

I got some slippers. They keep my feet warm, which is nice. _mike got excited about getting socks, which means I guess we're adults now?

...Ok, I have to ask, Mauve: What caused that particular quote to be said?

...Ok, I have to ask, Mauve: What caused that particular quote to be said?

Someone kept guessing a two-word phrase when only the first word was needed, so the artist started trying to cover the guesser's mouth with their hand to make them shut up after the first word. This basically resulted in the guesser getting smacked in the face mid-sentence.

We decided this was cheating.

...Pictionary is violent.

Silly Seil, Ramadan was in July/August.
