I cannot even begin to describe how loathsome it is. Basically, it is inciting mentally ill / PTSD-suffering veterans to kill people whom it claims are responsible for 9/11 IN ORDER TO REGAIN THEIR LOST FAVOR WITH GOD (whose wrath they incurred by contemplating suicide). It also advises them against seeking psychiatric help.

That text is followed by dozens of names, replete with multiple full addresses and phone numbers for each name, all organized by state.
So, yeah, I'm gonna be reporting this to the police. Just thought I'd share my outrage and disgust...

Hey if God was against killing people he'd have made murder a sin

good on you Rick. Sorry to ask, but by any chance are you affiliated with the military yourself? This seems kinda of targeted specifically to a certain crowd... or maybe just a nut shooting blanks in the dark to see if he can ''touch'' others like him by accident...
Either way i would consider sharing the sender's mail. Not for backlash, but as a warning to those who might be on in touch with this person by other means, or even others who might be in a low point in their lives and might see in this guy some sort of ''light beacon'' that they could turn to in a moment of poor judgment... i dunno, just have a feeling that a ''don't associate with this guy. You can be sure he is already under surveillance from authorities'' might dissuade a few...

I for one would recommend you take this straight to tips.fbi.gov, if you haven't already. It's not a bad thing to take this to the police, but the FBI are probably better equipped to deal with this kind of online threat. (After all, they get so much practice these days.)

The sad thing is even if we can attribute it to Poe's Law it's done in horrible taste in this particular instance and isn't funny at all.

I am not, but I have many friends and family members who are? My guess is that it's more the latter. It did freak me out that it was addressed to my email alone, not as part of a group/batch. Google searching only turned up one other hit of some other guy talking about getting it...
Either way i would consider sharing the sender's mail. There's really no point, as it was sent from an obvious scam account.
Really hoping this is just some sick fuck trolling about with fake addresses and whatnot.Yeah, I looked into it; the names are all elected government officials and the addresses I bothered checking corresponded to them. And in any case, I really don't feel maliciousness like that should go under the same descriptor as, say, going on to a Star Wars forum and talking about Mr Spock is your favorite character.
