So a chain of supermarkets here has recently been bought by walmart and now they're changing what they stock. Now we suddenly have things like Pretzel Pete or honey mustard or fifteen brands of BBQ sauce, but a bunch of things have been disappearing, from pasta brands to cookies to pans to deodorants - like, seriously, Gilette or Old Spice? these are my choices? - and it's rather annoying.

I want local products, damnit.

Unfortunately...I have to do my Grocery shopping at Walmart.

I am just glad stores have not all gotten rid of bag teas. Seriously, those single-cup coffee makers are the worst idea since ever! But I can't find my favorite tea at anywhere...Raspberry Tea. :(

Also, watch out for the Chocolate Tacos from Taco Bell.

They're wonderful if you live by yourself and don't need to make 6-8 cups of coffee at a time.

Plus they make a reuseable basket so you can just buy and use grounds instead of the prepacked cups. And if you just want hot water you can leave the basket out instead of boiling a separate kettle.

It took a year for the Burger King to open at our only shopping center so I'm not too worried about a Taco Bell, Robin.

Your inferior local products had to step aside to make way for superior, mass-produced American products. Made in China.

Naw it's actually just Walmart getting rid of Unilever brands, now that I think about it.

What did I use to like? Tab, by Coca-Cola. I swear they just rebranded it as Coke Zero, but I can barely find it anymore. I would have expected at least Wal-Mart to have it, but noooo.

Nope...I was talking actual Taco Bell Chocolate Tacos Kits sold in Wal-Marts. (http://www.junkfoodguy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/tacochoco-01.png)

Most of it...I go to an actual butcher for my meat.

As fun as it is to put down Walmart, it's possible that they are one of the better selections in town for some food items. Having the dregs of humanity as customers and terrible worker conditions world wide doesn't necessarilly mean that the products on the shelves are just as shitty.

In fact, as much as I didn't want to admit it, the quality of the meat and its packaging at the Walmart where I previously lived was as high if not better than the strictly-grocery stores, which included a Wegman's (edit: I note this chain because I have been given the impression over the last ~7 years that people generally regard Wegman's as God's gift to grocery stores (though not with as much gusto as Whole Food's and Trader Joe's, I think).

I've actually gotten some very fine ground meat and sausages at Walmart.

I was able to find that Kretschmar brand has some very good Braunschweiger. That stuff is good on toast with german mustard.
