Truth be told I was only pissed that it got to the point where fictional character are being called out on it. This kind of thing is not really even shown near where I live.

Saying it's about Red Mage and Black Mage really is oversimplifying things. I mean, pretty much any pairing that can possibly be crammed into CoMCoL is canon.

Hell, I've been thinking of shoving a Tyler Durden + Jack Fight Club chapter in.

You, um... you realize that this is, in fact, kinda the definition of the trope you linked, right? In an attempt to avoid the appearance of stereotyping the female characters, you overcompensate and make them all "non-stereotypical" in a similar way.

Queeny Aroma - Sane Corporate genus,

Siren Gale - Psychopath

Pandora Rox - Bookworm, glass cannon,

Annabel Vandalia - Femme Fetale

Silvia Phantom - Dead parent, but was the sympathic atoner

Alexcia Rain - Female Boisterous Bruiser, trigger happy mercenary

Xaniras Vandalia - Angst Assassin, pyro

Jetah Rodgers - Sane Bounty Hunter

Joan Vandalia - the healer

Trixy - Insane Psychopath, Pirate

Kage - Anti Villain

And each of them are very well rounded making them as human as possible (even the vampires get this treatment). And are much more complex then what I've just stated.

Hahaha okay no but seriously October 2009? He's been here like exactly long enough to see that sort of thing officially is tolerated here and that administrators will actively defend it and attack people for being pissed off by it. Honestly what on Earth do you expect from the guy?
