I walk around lost and I don't know why
I don't see the faces or the places I should recognize
I have that dream where it feels like home but it don't look right
Yes I will look everywhere tonight
I will not stop till I make things right
And I can't go home till I see the sun
I can't go home without
Chrysanthemum

I also have that dream straight out of Inception, where I go someplace I know for various reasons, like the mall, and as my dreamstate continues, I'm on a boat, back at home, at a friends house, or an entirely different person, or viewing things in the third person.

Then there are those dreams that feel similar to a movie or a book or some situation I've seen before, and I will mentally go through the motions of resolving that situation, usually by unconciously acting out whatever I saw, or doing it my way if the way they did it in the movies was too silly. Or I'm too silly and it's too serious.

I'm a very lucid dreamer!

WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?!

EDIT: Just for the sake of ontopicness, I do have a fairly regularly recurring dream where I fall out of an elevator. There are no doors, and the shaft is mostly structure... like as in there is no paneling and mostly open air. I don't know why. It's quite weird.

double edit: I used a tag. It is my first. FTW.

I had a dream that played out like a crossover between Doctor Who and Event Horizon. I wasn't the Doctor so I was seriously fucked by the time it ended. Maybe if I find a way to turn my hobby of writing into a career, I could make it into a Doctor Who script.

My dreams have lately become crossovers between a video game I'm currently playing and one of my favorite tv shows. Sort of like a Borderlands/Stargate Universe mix or some shit like that.

I'd say sleep deprivation would be the cause but I don't lose much sleep.

EDIT: A video game in the Stargate Universe setting would actually be pretty cool now that I think about it.

Every time I get a fever, I have the same recurring nightmare.

All I can remember that it's soft and terrifying. And that I always wake up screaming.

I don't like being sick :(

Last night I had the weirdest dream. Right out of a fanfic. It involved Superman and Batman with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fighting Godzilla.

When I woke up, I was curious of what the fuck I was dreaming.

When I was younger, I used to have multiple dreams that involved me being locked in battle with an invisible cowboy. I think I won once.

I wish this was a joke.

Also, once when I was sick, I had a recurring dream of what seemed to be me in a trench in World War I. It wasn't the same dream several times though, it was like a continuation every time I went to sleep.

Last night I woke up and fell asleep like 3 times and had the same stupid dream each time where I was in a woodshop class trying to build a birdhouse, but the teacher kept telling me that I required more pylons.

On occasion, I'll dream that I'm a middle-aged, rather portly monk carrying a sword in a sort of pseudo-modern, pseudo-Medieval place with a large wall. I've only had it twice that I've remembered, but the place was the same both times, and both times there was the same guy asking if I'd seen his sister. I felt especially bad the second time, because it happened about a year after the first, and that he was still looking for her and asking me as a man of the cloth for help and I couldn't give it to him just, well, yeah. It mostly felt like I was using someone else's body, because I never dream about being anyone but myself. It's an unusual experience.

Edit: I guess that's not properly "recurring," though.

My dreams are kind of unique in that I revisit a lot of locations. Sometimes they're variations of real places, like my old schools or my grandparents' house, but in other cases, they're places I've never been and which I assume therefore do not really exist (although one was surprisingly similar to a place in a video game that I didn't play until years later).

When I was in grade school, I used to dream a lot about flying hundreds of feet above the ground like an angel. I remember acting like it was so casual in my dream to spread my wings and fly, and then flying would be so exhilarating and the sight would be absolutely beautiful. I would then daydream about it during school the day after.

Now my most memorable dreams are random lucid dreams where I feel like I'm drugged on something and consciously roll around in bed while I have some crazy dream sequence that either makes no sense or seems absolutely normal, or the occasional premonition-type dream where I imagine some every-day scenario that's completely non-noteworthy and happens later on while I'm conscious and is only something I remember at all because it hits me with a feeling of déjà vu.
