Evolve immunity to acid.

Evolve ability to excrete acid.

Use Acid Excretion to destroy shell.

Recreate shell with new control over excretions as a totally bitchin' suit of fully articulated chitinous armor.

Evolve ability to ABSORB or RECREATE past evolutions at will.

Crack out of shell, think that you won't be doing that again anytime soon.

I am saddened by these developments...

Begin METAMORPHOSIS. Evolve scales and leathery wings. Ditch spider form and go with something of the reptilian variety. Break free from your cocoon and seek out food.

Who knows what you'll be when you emerge from your pastel chrysalis.

Also, maybe Mr Squishy can eat the shell just like it eats rocks, maybe it's a good idea to try that before devolving anything.

Reduce mantle to a smaller area, and adjust it to grow a shell more akin to a snail shell.

Also, evolve resistance to extreme temperatures and electricity. And try evolving some electricity-generating organs. And while we're at it, MANLINESS.
