More brutal then a Scyther. Too random for a Pinsir or Rhyperior. And too seperated for a Sharpedo unless it did nothing but slash for a few hours. Which leaves an insane but extremely powerful slayer as an option. Or possibly something we've never fun across before. Unless I missed something.
He didn't look back down at the corpse. Nothing new to be learned from the mangled figure and he wasn't a sadist who enjoyed viewing their pain. Whatever it is. It doesn't seem to stop. It appears to cut and cut until it's opponent is dead or has escaped it. |
"I hadn't considered that it might be a slayer... but I don't think so. What we need to ask ourselves is, what could be in there? All entrances and exits were under observation ever since the Eight entered the bank. I don't think whatever did this could have gotten past that observation, even if our police department isn't the most competent. That means it either got in beforehand, or it got in through another entrance." He paused for a moment. "However, I very much doubt the police would have missed it entering through the walls or the ceiling, even if this were some sort of ghost type, which could slip through without making a hole. No, I think that our target either, got in before the robbery occurred and lay dormant for a while, or it entered through the underground while the robbery was underway." He paused again. "If the former is the case, then I'm guessing that it'd have been in a deposit box, perhaps a fossilized egg which managed to hatch. I can't see bank security missing something like this entering normally. But I doubt it... No, I think this dug its way through the ground under the bank, entered through the floor and then started wreaking havoc. That'd explain the fact that we had three high-tier pokemon fighting in the subway tunnel, one of them legendary. Territory is much more valuable when your neighbors consist of... whatever did this. Though of course, if that's the case, then whatever killed this Machamp was terrible enough to scare a Golem, a Salamence and a Heatran into fighting with one another out of desperation, which really gives us a picture of how dangerous it can be. Now we should be asking ourselves... is the appearance of these things related to the robbery? The egg was unknown, wasn't it? Perhaps it hatched? Or perhaps its relatives tracked it down?"
He sighed, sat down. He was good at deduction, but he still didn't know nearly enough about the threat to feel remotely secure. |
Synopsis: All teams are ready and encounter the situation in the reception room. Rayleen has Hector, Angelo and Rachel help the Rhyperior out of trouble and to turn Hector and Angelo in. There are five Narcham and one Pulverot. Rio the violet Kimono joins the team and brings her own sorta-inappropriate background music with her. The strengths and weaknesses of single type Ruin Pokémon is explained.
Rachel joined the main entrance team, patching up and resupplying what she could. The van was there, but empty. Dormond had joined the police force in making sure the arrested trainers weren't going to try anything. "Demon here. We should have relatively equal strength on each team. Renny and Pierce, could you come down from there and join up with Isaac and me? Rakald can join Impact, Charlotte, Matthias and Rachel at the front. Once you're ready, report in and we'll move. I'd prefer sooner than later. A butchered Machamp sounds like something really bad. I just wish we knew what the hell is going on in there, but something's jamming all our probes. Whatever it is, it's giving off powerful electromagnetic fields." It only took a few minutes for everyone to catch their breath and otherwise get ready. "Okay, deploy." The main entrance team was the first team noticed by the civilians. They got up from where they were all told to sit down and started filing out of the bank, leaving the dark trainer Hector, the psychic trainer Angelo, a bleeding yet still alive Rhyperior leaning against a wall for support, some blonde hussy in a violet mini-yukata armed with a set of claws, and six unrecognizeable creatures. Five of them were low to the ground, their skin the color of human flesh. The flesh was stretched so far as to leave gaps where one could see purple muscle and tendons. They had five black spheres in their nonexistent faces in a random cluster. Five long, sharp blades protruded from beneath that eye cluster. They possessed six legs, each ending in two claws that looked like bladed hooks. A long, narrow tail ended in a large fishfin. The creature behind them stood upright, was the same color and had only one eye sphere, dead center on its broad wedge-shaped body. Two broad legs ended in tree trunk legs with short, broad talons. Two long, powerful arms ended in long, sharp claws. Its strange flesh seemed to dribble over itself, like the creature was made of wet mud. A ring of bladed spikes surrounded the sensory sphere on its body. Behind the body, two bigger arms stretched out and circled around the body. Rayleen was trying to reach the others on the scouters, but the interference coming from the unknown Pokémon was causing the scouters to malfunction. "Hector and Angelo, you are hereby under arrest for robbery and-" "Oh shut the hell up!" Hector yelled. "Do you really think justice is important right now when these things are trying to kill us!?" Rayleen appeared with the other group, on the other side of the formation. "We'll take care of those...things," she said, talking to Hector and Angelo. "There's not a whole lot of room here. I want you two to get that Rhyperior out of here and I want Princess to make sure they do what I say." Hector was about to protest, but Angelo put a reassuring hand on Hector's shoulder. "We'll do as you say," Angelo said calmly. "But listen. Those smaller Pokémon are called Narcham, and that big one is a Pulverot. This ninja here told me that they're the Ruin type." "I've never heard of a Ruin type, before." "Dragon type damage is really, really good at hurting them," the ninja girl broke in. "You can also hurt them good with Psychic, Ghost, Dark and Steel attacks. But they're tough against and Fire, Ice and Rock attacks. And you can't hurt 'em at all with Fighting and Ground attacks." "Why are there so many? I heard it was only one Pokémon egg in that vault." "That egg is a Pokémon itself," Angelo cautioned. "This woman, Rio, says it's a Gendom, and it functions like a Narcham generator." "What about the Pulverot? Where did it come from?" "Five of those Narcham globbed together and formed it. I've never seen a Pokémon evolve that way." "Nor have I. We'll take over from here on out. Miss Rio, things will only get more dangerous from here so escape with the others." "Awww, but I'm having so much fun!" "Don't make me repeat myself." "You should let her help you," Angelo said as Hector moved to help the Rhyperior. "She has incredible physical strength. We would've been overrun if it wasn't for her." "Ugh, fine." Rayleen gave in. "But we've talked long enough. Those Narcham have been surprisingly patient with us." As the former enemy trainers helped Rhyperior out of the bank with Rachel close behind, Rayleen joined up with Rio. "I can only assume that the gang leader, Darcen, has already perished. With the other seven trainers successfully captured, that's a mission complete, but we can't just leave these things be. With the limited spacing and all of us here, the trainers should use one Pokémon only. Remember, Dragon type damage is extremely effective. Psychic, Ghost, Dark and Steel type damage is also effective. They resist Fire, Ice and Rock type attacks. Fighting and Ground type damage won't affect them. We'll have to modify our tactics to suit these new foes." "We can do it." Rio assured Rayleen. "'Cause we've got the beats. Let the music play!" As though on cue, Sean Kingston's "Fire Burnin' On the Dance Floor" began to play. Rio resumed her combat stance, her body grooving in tune with the music. "What the hell is this?" Rayleen demanded. "Oh, don't worry about it. It wouldn't be fun without music. Anyways, here they come!" Rayleen shook her head slowly. "I think I'm going to have a headache," she said before lifting her weapon. ----- New Pokémon! - Narcham ~ The Raider Pokémon. A Pokémon of the Ruin type, these Pokémon are suited towards scouting, spying, and assassination. They can function and fight on walls and ceilings as easily as they can on the floor. Strengths: Quad damage dealt to Fighting types. Double damage dealt to Grass, Ground, Rock and Ice types. Half damage received from Fire, Ice and Rock types. No damage received from Fighting and Ground types. Weaknesses: Half damage dealt to Fire, Water, Electric and Poison types. Quad damage received from Dragon types. Double damage received from Psychic, Ghost, Dark and Steel types. Moves Spiral Dive - Ruin type, physical attribute. 110 power, 80 accuracy. Ignores defense. Can make target flinch. An attack using the mandibles where the Narcham rebounds off of a surface and hits the target like a big, spinning bullet of slicing blades. Star Ray - Ruin type, special attribute. 90 power, never misses. Can confuse target. Five beams are emitting by the sensory sphere cluster and converge on the target. Bloody Flurry - Ruin type, physical attribute. 25 power, 100 accuracy. High critical hit ratio. Slashes and gashes the target with three to six claw strikes from its foot claws. Terror Weapon - Ruin type, no attribute. Lowers all statistics by one. Ability: Sniper - Pulverot ~ The Soldier Pokémon. The evolved form of Narcham, created when five Narchams merge into one. This process seems to involve biomechanical processes that cannot be reversed. Pulverots are usually created by Narcham that think the extra fighting ability is worth sacrificing numbers for. What is interesting is that Pulverot will have a completely different moveset than the Narchams that created it. Strengths and Weaknesses - Same as Narcham above. Moves Body Wrecker - Ruin type, physical attribute. 120 power, 80 accuracy. Lowers attack and defense two levels. Can also cause paralysis. A brutal strike with both arms. Mind Eraser - Ruin type, special attribute. 120 power, 80 accuracy. Lowers special attack and special defense by two levels. Can also cause confusion. A power spherical bullet fired from the sensory sphere. Soul Crusher - Ruin type, physical attribute. 40 accuracy. One-hit KO. A devastating strike that obliterates the target. Sweeping Ray - Ruin type, special attribute. 90 power, 70 accuracy. Strikes all enemy targets. A long, thin beam that slices into the ground, causing a line explosion a few dramatic seconds later. Ability: Battle Armor |
Renny was pretty ambient about his and Pierce's victory, as he praised his pokemon for their hard work. Following his partner's example, he summoned Togekiss as his mount and flew down to the ground level. The sight of the mutiliated Machamp shocked the two as Togekiss whined mournfully and Renny felt queasy in his stomach about the nature of the wounds.
"... I hear that madam, I'll come as soon as possible." Renny was silent as he joined Rayleen's group, trying to wrap his mind around the entire situation. The chaos inside was numbing, although the fact that most of the civilians were still alive brought him a little hope. As he listened to Rio, he chimed in. "Madam, one of my pokemon has a dragon move and another of mine got a steel type attack." He summoned Swampert to the field. "Swampert, be very careful with these guys. Very dangerous, but I believe you can do this. These are ruin type monsters. Apparently, they are weak against dragon type moves. Let's use that, ok?" "PERT!" Swampert's body glowed again with that familiar draconic light and dashed toward one of the slithery Narchams, attempting to crush it down powerfully against the floor, thrashing its body powerfully knocking away any minor obstacles in its path. ---------------------- Swampert ready to use Outrage (quad?) super effective move of the dragon type. According to the Ruin type data above, Swampert should be neutral resistance since it's water type resists it but its ground type is weak to it. Thus Neutral damage. It'll try to target the Narchams. |
Charlotte had Sol-leks at her side when they moved into the bank. She had taken the chance earlier to mostly heal him and Spitz, and revive Pike and put Spitz away. She was ready to rip her way through more trainers, having calmed down and put the gun away, but it appeared as though there would be no strife with the Evil Evee Eight any longer. Instead, they would have to fight off those monstrosities, probably the things that had ripped up the Machamp outside.
"So its their fault my coat is stained," she muttered, still obviously peeved at the stain on her coat. Those were only cover words though, Charlotte was truly revolted by these things that were before her. These abominations even managed to murder the gang's leader and his pokemon. She thought that she was the only person to try that, but here were wild pokemon taking it upon themselves to make pre-mediated murder. It was just weird. But it was something she hadn't ripped to shreds yet, so she was nevertheless eager to bring one down. "You heard them boy," Charlotte said to the dog, "dark type attacks work well, Sol-leks you take a cruch out of one. I want to be one of the first people to claim their pokemon have defeated a Narcham! Move!" The Houndoom wasted no time in getting to work. In truth, he was relieved that his trainer's murderous rage had ended, and that he had someone commanding them again. Jumping the gun, rather than waiting for Rayleen's command to attack, he landed his attack on the nearest Narcham Narcham. Sol-leks clamped down on the fleshy mass hard with his teeth, wincing a bit before hand at how it looked up close. |
He entered with the rest of the team, paying little attention to the trainers and the Rhyperior. The group obviously was getting them to leave and didn't need his help in that manner. The Ruin pokemon were attracting his attention.
So these were the culprits behind the slaughtering of the Machamp. He had to admit that even with their grotesque figures their forms commanded a certain amount of respect and fear. Still, now wasn't the time to admire or cower. Now was the time to act. He decided that the largest threat currently facing them was the Pulverot. And thus that should be taken out as soon as possible. He didn't have any intention of going melee with it but he could give it a timer to start things off. Thankfully they weren't immune to poison. His wings fluttered rapidly and dust shot forward, moving in a deadly cloud towards the Pulverot. Toxic! Let's see how long you can last Pulverot. He'd have to be careful however. He didn't want to attract the ire of more then he could handle. |
Pierce sighed as he rounded around the bank to join Rayleen's team. But he smiled when the order was given to move in. He barely paid any attention to the talking going on, and inspected the strange pokemon. Their grotesque appearance and obvious power piqued his excitement.
The music blasting from the strange woman called Rio bothered him slightly, but he ignored it. "So, Dark and Steel, then?" He said. "Skarmory, Night Slash!" He called as he threw the pokeball. Skarmory materalized and her wings glowed dark as she flew at one of the Narcham. Pierce remembered what Angelo had said about the Gendom. "We need to hit them hard and fast," He called to the others. "We need to clear a path to that Gendom, whatever it is, and shut it down before it makes too many of these things and they overwhelm us." |
Impact had followed the rest of the team into the bank, becoming increasingly more tense, but at the same time feeling an undercurrent of tranquility. This was it. No chance to stop it. He'd fight, and he'd win. If he didn't, there wouldn't be a chance to regret it. He hadn't felt this way, this tense and frightened but simultaneously tranquil since he'd ambushed that mobster and her Pidgeot all those years ago. Good times. He grinned. Perhaps this would be another great turning point in his life. He certainly hoped so. He listened to the Girl's (Rio, her name was?) info, sighed. He had brought dark weapons, thank god, but the x-special attack he had taken from the armory along with a new revolver would now be annoyingly useless. Besides, he didn't have armor against these things, he'd be taking full damage, no matter what. He was at the back of the group, and turned to Princess as she ran past with the criminals and the monster. "Princess! Bring a Dragon Slave or two on the way back! Thanks!" He then dropped his rifle and LH launcher (he probably wouldn't be using them anyway, and he'd be unencumbered this way), flicked his wrists and grinned as his claws slid out with twin Shhhhicks. Careful not to accidentally stab anyone (though the pokebrid's neck was invitingly vulnerable) he charged through the group, came to a halt next to the Slayer. She seemed to know what was going on, which was more than he could say about anyone else, she was armed in a similar manner to him (he was pretty sure those claws would be dealing dark damage) and, above all, she was human. He didn't care much for her taste in music (though it was... catchy), but her presence brought the ratio of Slayers to Pokemon Users to an acceptable level. He still didn't feel anything approaching safe, but at least he was now aware of his enemies, their strengths, their weaknesses, and had somebody competent to watch his back. He reached Rio just as the song mentioned a "Super Thing", had picked a target by the time "Spain" was mentioned, called out to Rio "Central Narcham!", then lunged forward, stabbing with the claws on his right hand, while keeping the left hand close to his body, to ward off any attacks. He made contact by the time the song told him to "Blow that crazy flame away", and he was happy to oblige.

The very sight of the Narcham repulsed him, truthfully he didn't know if he could even call them Pokemon or if spawns of evil would be a better term. As a Rhyperior pokebird he was terribly unequipped to to handle a hit from a ruin type move. He would have to paradigm shift but at most he had 3 battle turns, if not just 2. The Machamp out their reminded him of what these things could do to him and he shuddered, to even have a chance he would need to paradigm shift. In the time spam of three turn he could probably take out one or two Narchams.
It was at that moment that a though crossed his head. Outrage. A physical dragon type move, that last 2-3 turns. It has a high base attack but would confuse him when it was done. Which would be fine because after 2-3 turn he would become useless. “Ok I know now what I need to do. PARADIGM SHIFT” |
Battle Synopsis: Three Narchams are downed and similarly replaced. Another Narcham is seriously injured. The Pulverot is badly poisoned. Impact and Rayleen switch armaments to Dragon Slaves thanks to Rachel and Dormond the Mawile Pokébrid joins in the fun. Rio reveals that Gendoms can produce Narchams indefinitely, but if the allies can defeat them more quickly than the Gendom can generate them, the Narcham menace can be pushed back. The enemy then pulls out a complex attack sequence that Rio calls a Syncstrike that wounds all but especially damages Dormond, Sol-leks, Impact, Swampert, and Skarmory.
Swampert ripped the Narcham in two with its awesome power. "Nice kill!" Rayleen approved, smiling up until the point where another Narcham skittered to replace its fallen brethren. "Damn it, how many more of them are there?" "The Gendom can build an unlimited number of Narchams," Rio advised. "What!? Then how in the fuck're we supposed to get to it at all?" "I wasn't finished talking. Those two cute trainers and me were just enough of a killing frenzy to keep the battlefield even, but with all of you here, we can beat them back." "In other words, we can defeat them faster than the Gendom can generate them," Rayleen advised. "Then we press on. We can't let a single one escape or the city could be in even greater danger." Sol-leks' revulsion at first seeing a Narcham up close was nullified by a sudden urge to obliterate the monstrosity. The Narcham reached up with one claw to slice Sol-leks, but Sol-leks had fortunately forced the target to flinch. Still, the Narcham looked relatively okay. These things were going to be a bitch. Pulverot's skin seemed to boil a bit when Matthias inflicted it with a terrible toxin, but otherwise the strange Pokémon didn't even seem to notice that it was running on a deathclock in toxin form. Pierce wisely decided to assist Charlotte's Pokémon Sol-leks with its target, striking the Narcham for serious damage. The Narcham struggled to its claws, but crumbled under its ruined body. "That's a good way to put 'em down fast," Rayleen approved. "We'll off 'em all a lot faster with teamwork." Still, things weren't looking too reassuring as a fresh Narcham bounced right into position to maintain the barricade. Impact wasn't too satisfied by hearing the Pokémon shriek and having little globs of purple blood spatter onto his face. "I'm on it, handsome." Rio called out to him, rushing in. Impact stood aside and the Narcham exploded into action, locking claws to hands with Rio. Despite the fact that Rio didn't even look all that muscular, the kunoichi overpowered the Pokémon, kicked its legs out from under it, slung it over her head and broke its back over her shoulders. Then, taking it by a leg, she swung it around and threw it into the nearest solid obstacle where it came to rest, bleeding and broken. "A love a man who gets close and personal," Rio said before jumping back as a replacement Narcham tried to swipe at her. "Sit, boy. I'll scratch your belly soon enough," she taunted while swinging her claws invitingly. Rayleen sighed and tossed a Strange Parasite onto the nearest Narcham. It wasn't much, but the Narcham resisted Ice damage from the LH Launcher, and the HV Penetrator couldn't do shit. When the Narcham went to cut her for the insult, it was blasted in the side of its head by a Flash Cannon. Rachel was back with Dragon Slaves, and she even went and brought Dormond, the Mawile Pokébrid who drove the van. "Catch 'em and cut 'em!" Rachel called out, offering the Dragon Slaves to Rayleen and Impact. Dormond stepped forward and blocked the wounded Narcham's attack. "M'lady, are you alright?" Dormond asked Rayleen. Rayleen sighed. "I've lost my father and fiancé and I'm soon to lose my mother as well," Rayleen cautioned Dormond. "I'd really rather not lose my favorite butler since I was a child, too." "It'll take more than these undignified creatures to remove me from your side, m'lady," Dormond assured her. "Watch it, here they come." Rio cautioned. Pulverot kicked it off by charging some kind of attack. "Heads up, they're about to do a Syncstrike!" Rayleen was about to ask Rio what the hell a Syncstrike was when the thin ray swept across the semicircular ring of allies. A couple of seconds later, everyone but the Paradigm Shifted Isaac were launched by the line explosion. Isaac didn't escape the damage, though. Then, as the wounded began to fall back to the ground, the Narcham erupted into action. Dormond, Sol-leks, Impact, Swampert, and Skarmory received considerable wounds from where the speeding Narcham's sliced into them with their hook claws. All of them managed to get to their feet. "What in the holy fuck?" Rayleen demanded weakly. Rio shook her head to clear it of the ringing. "Normal Pokémon have lives outside of battle. They eat, they mate, they play, all that stuff. Ruin Pokémon only live for battle. They know squad tactics and everything and are able to pull off moves that involve multiple Pokémon thinking the same thing at the same time. That's a Syncstrike." "Why didn't you tell us this sooner?" "I'm a blonde. Duh." Rayleen rolled her eyes. "Well, try to remember sooner next time." "I'm trying, damn." |
