Let's be fun.

No one seems to be posting along the OP's guidelines.

Yugioh is terrible, but you seem to already know that and why. It's a seemingly never-ending series of the same fight so that some dude can ACTIVATE HIS TRAP CARD and make numbers add and subtract from other numbers. I guess I'd be able to make a more scathing critique if I'd watch the show.

I don't enjoy picking favourites, save for some cases, but here's something I'd enjoy hearing others rip apart despite liking it: Gundam Wing. (this is in part motivated by having recently put Endless Waltz on to fall asleep to the other night and remembering how ripe for mockery the series is)

Well this is pretty much um....all adoloescent animes. (And probably some adult ones).

Gundam Wing? Oh it was pretty decent, don't get me wrong, but it really licked some nasty unshaven balls when it came down to having a social life and missing ONE FUCKING EPISODE, at which point you'd be permanently and irrevocably lost in the storyline if you'd not seen it all before. And of course when Toonami was showing it on Cartoon Network, they'd only run certain stretches of the show anyway, so you were never quite sure when or where what began. That, and Hiro's unbelievable obsession with suicides that never really quite happen and blowing up his gundam all the damn time. Srsly? Take the most awe-inspiring mech and blow it up over and over nearly every third episode? Come on now... you never saw the Deathscythe being treated that way. Troa (sp?) had respect for his shit.

And you're totally right about Yugayho. How long is that series gonna go on, anyway? It's getting about as bad as pokemon. It could be worse.. could be like digimon, but nobody cares about them anyway.

So here's some Fifthfiend bait: I really liked Chrono Trigger.

I'm going to have to mass attack all your tastes- in rapid succession.

Pearl Jam but without the good bits (not that there are many). I don't think you're being serious though.

Pretty much they took the worst episodes of the old star trek series and reshot them with a new cast, worse acting, worse writing and hugely hampered by canon. They had to get the oldies in to save the series and it was still a pile of shit.

Generic, shallow, predicatble plots, weak characterisations, overuse of grinding as a game lengther- that's pretty much the series as a whole. Also the games are so significantly different it suggests to me as much as someone who says "I like food" - ie no developed palette whatsoever.

And a couple of Linkin Park Songs
Trying to be punk but the only aspect of punk they retain is a complete lack of musicality.
Quote:

And the Dark Knight
I've covered this one before but in short:
Terrible camera work, action, tremendously scattergun moral messages, gigantic plotholes, characters changing their beliefs/ideas/actions in seconds,, paper-thin plot with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer.

Japanese are a sociopathic, xenophobic race of crazies and all their work is suitably tainted. Also reliance on wackiness.

I'm pretty sure that's illegal- obviously illegal things are the product of a sick and devious mind.

I also love the Street Fighter movie for obvious reasons.
Fighting movie without Bruce Lee. Also Ryu can throw fireballs all the time- why didn't he just fireball everyone to death?

Fuck 'em. If I like it, it must be awesome.

Covered final fantasy, Pokemon replaces crack addiction with flashing light adddiction, Metallica are basically "We think we're metal but we better tone it down so we can sell it to everyone" ie opposite of metal so they are in total 0 music, Tenacious D are- play a simple song, drop some lyrics over it, that shit is what we do at parties and if us useless fucks can do it anybody can, Brutal Legend- oh fuck I'm so metal I'm playing a videogame- see Metallica, Metal Gear Solid- instead of letting you play a game we're going to make you watch an awful awful movie!

It's from Austria. Have you ever been to Austria? If you had you would know I need to go no more.

Of course, the main reason I've been reading the manga itself hasn't been touched on in a whole damn year, so it may be turned partly ironic oh wait nuclear-ish explosion got teleported by an awesome dude nevermind.

See Japan.

The plot doesnt intergrate time travel at all- it might as well be set in one time with all the different places being different countries- the endings are mostly quite similiar with only minor differences and it's easy as fuck.

You dudes missed hte point of this thread- you supposed to post good things, things that you like, not awful things.

Melfice 08-04-2010 01:30 PM

I like listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble.

The lack of excitement in your life will lead to your death through low blood pressure. Also oversanitation is actually deadly as fuck.

Gameplay is simple to break and for a game that is basically packaged on the story the ending is atrociously short, jsut some videoclips of characters running around. Awful.
Quote:

Pulp Fiction
Hey look, I can sit in the film archive, get a whole lot of old films, splice them together- genius. I will try to put in as little original stuff as possible as those are the worst parts of the movie.
Quote:

Boonedock Saints
All the recycled garbage of a tarantino movie but without its style.
Quote:

Good end result, questionable logic on getting there. So I'll give you a point.
Quote:

Arguing with people who are deeply rooted in their religious faith.
As Zizek shows us, atheists are the best christians and attempts to argue being religion/atheism are fundamentally flawed and rely on ideas of the 19 century.
Quote:

Tax Season (my wife is a tax nut and I get a huge refund every year)
So you like starving your fellow worker?
Quote:

Cigars
Killing you and actual taste is awful.
Quote:

Starcraft
Characters are unlikeable and are poorly written- their action sthrough the game are random and ill-determined.
Quote:

Book Stores
Only good for selling Mills and Boone to bored housewifes and propping up a deluded publishing industry. Real value is found in the hands of your fellow comrades and in direct from the printer purchasing.
Quote:

Well made coffee
A relic of when we needed to show our cultural superiority by stealing other cultures foods.
Quote:

You already said coffee. What the fuck is a creamer and why would you eat velvet. That's stupid.
