As for jokes: Just about everything else is fair game -- and there's plenty of jokes to be had at
Republicans' expense -- but when it comes to jokes at the expense of underprivileged minorities, I'm going to be a bit of a hardass, even if you're trying one of those subtle satire tricks where the joke's really on your representation of a conservative 'character.' Great comedians with a progressive tilt probably
can make jokes about any subject with the proper context, while subtly informing the audience who the joke is really on, but NPF
isn't composed of comedians of that caliber and I don't want anyone hiding behind a veil of conservative caricature as an excuse to type patently homophobic / misogynistic things.
While you can probably say something broad and generic like "Dem gays are nothing but trouble" and ensure an implicit understanding that you're playing a role, the problem is it's
very easy to gradually shift the imaginary conversation outside the bounds of decorum when the 'insults' get more specific, as they inevitably tend to. And I don't want an otherwise fun game of Mafia turning into a series of hurtful comments.
Generally speaking, you should intuitively know where the 'line' is. (After all, you're not a conservative.) And you should avoid crossing that line. But if you
don't know where the 'line' is, the good news is there's about
ten-trillion other Republican stereotypes you can make jokes about that are totally all right, including war policy, national security, the environment, the second amendment, excessive corporate ties, excessive religious ties, excessive nationalism, distrust of science, Ayn Rand's bullshit, the war on drugs, originalism in constitutional law, Fox News quips, invasion of privacy, hating on Hollywood celebrities, supporting the death penalty, despising sexual promiscuity, etc.
Those topics should keep you
plenty busy.
