I'm basically taking advantage of this, Bard:

And that now when Ichirou actually tries to break free he'll win the tug-o-war. Hopefully Yojimbo gets with the slicey slicey before that happens *hint hint*

Bard The 5th LW 05-29-2010 04:20 PM

Well in your bio, the chains are described as unbreakable, so I'm willing to have Ichirou respect that and do something else that stupid and impulsive.

There's nothing more fun then combating an insane powerful foe! Who knows what they'll do!

Very nice job Arhra.

Mesden 05-29-2010 04:44 PM

I'm half tempted to just cut down every tree in the forest so this whole ridiculous mess gets even more ridiculous. If you guys are gonna fight, might as well really fight.

Overcast 05-29-2010 04:46 PM

FTS, Ieyasu never fights directly when he can be a terrible terrible coward. He ain't nearly supernatural enough to fight everyone fair.

krogothwolf 05-29-2010 04:48 PM

Don't look at me, everytime someone from Rocket leaves the meeting area someone else shows up! Seriously its like they don't want this to go anywhere but one giant Battle Royale

Now THAT I'd like to see. Might as well have both teams properly stare each other down instead of kinda bugging each other here and there. That IS supposed to happen in the first chapter, anyway...

Dracorion 05-29-2010 04:51 PM

Yeah, I might just have Yoshiro walk up to the Rocket members currently chilling away from the fight just to do something.

Astral Harmony 05-29-2010 04:52 PM

I think we're just collectively waiting for a WTF Boom to settle it all.

Steel Shadow 05-29-2010 05:03 PM

Hey Overcast, trying to put this as nicely as I can, but please stop dictating what my character (And others) do. I ignored it last posst when you said your attack hit right out, becuase it was a small thing and I decided it would hit on my own, but this time you're ignoring the fact that the three of us are actively searching for you, and you're mentioning a character that as far as I can tell, you would not be aware of (Jade, unless she's being a highly visible ninja).

The post would have been fine if you'd just hidden yourself, and possibly would have had the same result. Saying that our characters had tunnel vision and rushed off ahead though? Godmodding. So yeah, stop it.

Teal Mage 05-29-2010 05:23 PM

A quick elaboration on what Steel means.

Godmodding is a term applied when a player basically has their character act like god. Attacks never succeed on them, but their own attacks always hit the other character/enemy. The later is typically done by not leaving a post open ended. Writing something like, "I threw a fireball at the enemy." Is fine, but writing "I blasted him with a fireball, throwing him back." Is normally considered Godmodding.

Dodging attacks, or rather, always expecting them, is a different sort of Godmodding that I usually call Meta-Gaming. Bringing Out-Of-Character knowledge In-Character. While there's nothing wrong with dodging an attack, provided it makes sense for your character to be able to, there are certain attacks your character shouldn't be able to predict.

Those are the ones that should hit.

This can also manifest in knowing things your character shouldn't - like the names of your opponents, their combat styles, or their plans, at a glance. Basically, you can't possibly expect (or have time to react to) everything.

But no matter what you call it, they're both unfair, especially in Player versus Player combat.

That's a really nice spear you got there.

It would be such a shame if you lost it so soon.

Why not just wait for things to actually settle out before kicking the ant hill? Seriously!

Raiden 05-29-2010 05:43 PM

I was hoping to avoid the big Kaboom, but looks like I'll have to use it.

EVERYONE GET READY TO DUCK!!!

Bard The 5th LW 05-29-2010 05:43 PM

Team Rocket is ready to blast off.

Mesden 05-29-2010 05:49 PM

Hope you guys were far away. Ta's logic.

Not all of my threats are hollow!

edit: half a forest falls over, does it make a sound?

No, but the airborne combatants sure do!

Mesden 05-29-2010 05:58 PM

I imagine you guys may or may not be halfway in, up to you.

My favorite part was zero hex's unintentional segway into it "Those explosions might have garnered some unwanted attention."

It's just one of those phrases that has to be immediately followed up by bad things.

Zero Hex 05-29-2010 06:12 PM

I was actually expecting Overcast to take a shot at us, but this is even better >_>

lazy man 05-29-2010 06:23 PM

And I have now solidified Suzume as a spaced-out moron. I like where this is going...

Zero Hex 05-29-2010 06:28 PM

So, if a complete team wipeout happens, whoever is still alive wins? Or is the big kaboom meant to keep the teams alive and separated so we can kill eachother in a more plot-significant situation?

Mesden 05-29-2010 06:29 PM

Chances are no one's gonna be allowed or forced to die early on. Unless you're really stupid.

Naqel 05-29-2010 06:38 PM

Whoa! I take a nap and we're over a dozen posts ahead.

Changes some plans but can work out anyway.

I must have not updated the site before posting back then. It was the first post on a new page, and I was going of to take the nap mentioned. Sorry.

Overcast 05-29-2010 08:15 PM

Apologies, I think it is the whole being severely outmatched thing. He cannot possibly kill any of you, because you can stop arrows. So I took some liberties I really ought not have. Won't happen again.

Bard The 5th LW 05-29-2010 08:24 PM

I'm going to take a guess and assume that Ta's next personality shift makes her a lovestruck yandere towards Suzume. Although, any chances of it happening were probably dampered by me taking a guess at it.

Mesden 05-29-2010 08:28 PM

Nope, depends on what's going on when she wakes up, and no one knows when she wakes up.

edit -- her overall personality won't change much, by the by, she's not completely detached from reality inbetween naps!

So lovestruck Tsundere, then?

Edit: It's not like she likes you, Suzume, you idiot. She's just going this way ANYWAY, stupid.

I was actually catching up and realized, "wait he doesn't even know I'm coming and I zoom by him? Not only that, but there's no reaction to the now three people chasing him?" I mean, it's no big deal now at all since we can just run after you again. Don't be afraid of your character dying from a confrontation, there are enough Team Rocket people coming towards your position to help you out and all that.

Also, I will be out of town tomorrow. I will try to have internet access by the evening (we're going out of the country then coming back, don't ask) and I'll post then.

Overcast 05-29-2010 09:07 PM

I'll be honest, Ieyasu should have died when he got swung at with the scythe, if it had been just me I would have gauged his skill to be incapable of dodging it when he is heading towards it and would have died and left. Though Steel PM'd me that he wasn't trying to kill him so I shifted it a bit.

No reaction because he is already sitting at the end of his rope with one of you, it isn't a difficult place for him to arrive to. Three of you can't make him any more nervous unless he had a spontaneous heart attack.

So THAT'S what the boot to the head was for... Well that's a relief.

NOTE: Horrendously dense characters, now getting their asses kicked for being in the way. And being secrectly crushed on.

Mesden 05-29-2010 09:18 PM

I really should google that word so I know what it means, but I don't think it really matters.

Steel Shadow 05-29-2010 09:19 PM

...Never felt guilty for not killing someone before. Huh. Well, I think Mesden's provided a nice enough distraction for you to get away on.

Arhra 05-29-2010 09:39 PM

Hmm, maybe you should turn things down a notch, Mesden? Maybe it's just me, but it seems the illusion ability or shadow manifestation alone is easily on par with most other characters.

While I'm pointing fingers, I'll point one at you too Dracorion. Setting all the forest in a half mile radius alight with a one second buildup on a single attack? Really?

Dracorion 05-29-2010 09:48 PM

Yeah, I was worried that may have been too much, but no one said anything about it.

If it helps, for Yoshiro to pull that off usually it'd mean over-exerting himself. But thanks to Erayo's ability, he doesn't have to worry about exhausting himself.

Since he doesn't know about Erayo, he'd be pretty surprised that's he's not at all tired even after getting a good distance away.

Mind you, I'm just pulling all this out of my ass right now.

lazy man 05-29-2010 10:14 PM

Fight over, move along everybody, nothing to see here.

Raiden 05-29-2010 11:08 PM

Man, you people be trippin'.

Also, duck.

Gm sanctioned to be absurdly powerful and plot devicey. Not actually gonna abuse it on people though (was in constant exchange with Lazy during the fight).

The illusion has limits that I didn't really get into because of the passing out, though.

lazy man 05-31-2010 09:18 AM

Just a reminder that Suzume's still passed out and it'd be nice if someone could pick him up.

Same here!

mauve 05-31-2010 11:44 PM

Sorry Pyros. I'll get a post up soon. I had to think up a reason for Oki to hang around. Now that the airship arrived, I've got a decent idea of how to do this. I'll post soon.

krogothwolf 06-02-2010 10:06 PM

Wow, none of you guys want this thing to move along do you? just want to keep fighting around one little area? This is getting insane.

Zero Hex 06-02-2010 10:42 PM

I'm waiting for Batgirl and Steel Shadow to post so we can return and get on the airship

Menarker 06-02-2010 11:50 PM

Would Erayo would have any problem with the Airship thing? No one knows him (especially Kurama presumably), Drac's character went off in an entirely different direction and can't vouch for him, and he's a full demon (and not a terribly pleasant conversationist either)

Steel Shadow 06-07-2010 08:32 AM

There we go. Sorry it took so long, been busy. 's not great, but I'm somewhat tired.

batgirl 06-10-2010 08:23 PM

Sorry for my absence, I've been trying to adjust to my new schedule and such. Raiden made Krylo and I GMs until he gets back so we're in for some fuuuuun.

Raiden 06-12-2010 11:42 PM

yeah, summer work had me off at staff training the last two weeks. Had though I PMed Batgirl and Krylo the stuff but it looks like it didn't take. But yeah, now I get an hour off a day so I can keep track of stuff and I can push us along.

batgirl 06-20-2010 06:44 PM

Sorry guys I know I'm supposed to be moving the plot along but I'm moving in 2 days and it's getting a bit stressful over here. I'll hopefully have internet by wed so once I'm settled in I will get back to this, I promise.
