There's something very "Awww"-worthy about the whole down pavement thing.

Not to mention him usurping White Mage's position on the team which would have likely prevented a large amount of harm and evil the team has caused.

But it was Fighter's idea to become Light Warriors in the first place. So... everything IS Fighter's fault.
EDIT: But then again, Sarda needs to become a powerful wizard and eventually a jackass wizard in order to accidentally send White Mage back in time. So, everything (and the eternal torment and/or unmaking thereof) is Black Mage, Red Mage, Fighter, White Mage, and Sarda's fault. (Brian's view on time travel makes it impossible to pin the blame on one person.) Kinda surprised Thief's not really to blame, in retrospect, (you'd have thunk he'd be responsible for everything) except maybe for voting for Red Mage and getting most of the orbs amongst other smaller stuff.
