The Man Who Knew Too Much, 1934 version.

krogothwolf 04-06-2010 12:35 PM

Evil man! EVIL EVIL!!! It was that damn scar wasn't it?

Archbio 04-06-2010 12:46 PM

It's Peter Lorre with a huge scar!

Professor Smarmiarty 04-06-2010 02:33 PM

I guess a terrible 50s mystery that not one has seen because it didn't drive its director insane.

Archbio 04-06-2010 04:41 PM

The image looks grainier than it ought to be, I'm afraid. Don't get waylaid by that.

Edit: It was Minority Report!

Next round up for grabs.

Seil 06-07-2010 09:29 PM

Whether or not Bill Nighy is covered in blood or tentacles, he's an extremely sexy man.

krogothwolf 06-07-2010 10:07 PM

Wow dude, wow, I suppose I should say Seil is correct

Archbio 06-07-2010 10:07 PM

I assumed for some reason it was some kind of Clive Baker film.

Seil 06-07-2010 10:18 PM

Lets see here, what's a goo... aha!

Is... is there a face inside of the patient's mouth in Seil's last picture pick?

Wigmund 06-08-2010 11:34 PM

Lumen's got it.

And yes there is Archbio

Melfice 06-09-2010 09:21 AM

The Full Monty?

It's the only film I can think of right now that involves a large group of men in state of complete, or nearly complete undress.

Lumenskir 06-09-2010 09:46 AM

Quote:

The Full Monty?
No. HINT: Picture and my avatar are slightly related.

Seil 06-10-2010 09:56 PM

The Ten?

Lumenskir 06-10-2010 10:51 PM

Quote:

The Ten?
No need for the question mark, you got it right.

For those wondering, the hint was probably helpful if you thought in terms of past comedy troupes. Once you recognized that my avatar is Michael Showalter, you just had to connect him to either The State or Stella, both of which feature David Wain, who is the director of The Ten (and a bunch of other stuff, but none of them feature a room full of nigh-naked men).

If you didn't recognize Michael Showalter you need to get the the Stella DVDs and actually breathe some life into was has up until now been your mere existing.

Seil 06-11-2010 06:28 AM

I just went to Google and searched up "Roomful of naked guys," but okay.

Shyria Dracnoir 06-11-2010 12:06 PM

Death Proof?

Seil 06-11-2010 12:24 PM

No.

Archbio 06-11-2010 01:54 PM

Is it the manslaughter fan taxi driver from Pulp Fiction?

Seil 06-11-2010 03:35 PM

Yes, it is Esmeralda Villalobos, Archibo! You got it.

Meister 06-11-2010 04:12 PM

The Day of the Jackal.

Archbio 06-11-2010 04:14 PM

Quick, yet accurate. Meister's pick.

Note how the simple crutch rifle becomes a giant, remote controlled assault weapon in the (loose) remake.

Meister 06-11-2010 04:25 PM

And I only ever read the novel. (Okay I did see the remake but of course that doesn't help much here.)

I never watched that movie, just recognized the dude.

Rejected Again 06-12-2010 11:16 AM

Look whos talking?

krogothwolf 06-12-2010 12:04 PM

Nope

Lumenskir 06-12-2010 12:28 PM

You had to use the most famous scene from When Harry Met Sally?

krogothwolf 06-12-2010 02:49 PM

I haven't seen that movie in like 15 years, I forgot what scene it was when I saw the picture. Plus someone did get it wrong!

Damn Lumi and him being right

Lumenskir 06-12-2010 07:18 PM

No need to damn me, that scene is just one of those things that gets referenced and replayed and imbued into anything remotely similar that it sort of transcends the movie to become part of film forever. And for a romcom it really isn't that bad. (Although I am now imagining that the talking babies from Look Who's Talking are recreating the scene and it is even more hilarious.)

Archbio 06-12-2010 07:23 PM

The villain from The Rocketeer meeting an explody fate.

Lumenskir 06-12-2010 09:45 PM

Technically correct, although the judges would have preferred "The villain from The Rocketeer, the greatest comic book movie ever, meeting an explody fate."

Archbio 06-12-2010 10:51 PM

http://img813.imageshack.us/img813/3535/mak02.jpg

Melfice 06-13-2010 11:30 AM

Could it be "Darkman"?

Archbio 06-13-2010 12:08 PM

It would make it another picture related to a comic book movie villain meeting his doom.

Melfice got it.

Melfice 06-13-2010 12:42 PM

Sweet.
http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/4348/behindyou.jpg

I'll accept either the English or [original language] title. Bonus points if you know and name both.

EDIT: Holy shit, that image is smaller than expected. o__0
Uh, if this is too small, I've got another one of a different scene, which I'm more than willing to put up as well. Most likely equally small (got it from the same source), but at least it'll give more visible leads.

Archbio 06-13-2010 12:53 PM

Is that Ju-on?

Melfice 06-14-2010 04:40 AM

That is not Ju-on.

EDIT: Alright, bonus image time! I guess the original is too small to make out anything.

7days 06-14-2010 10:44 AM

is it Reincarnation or Rinne?

Melfice 06-14-2010 12:03 PM

It is not Reincarnation or Rinne.

Maybe I made it too hard? Hmm... Surely Archie and 7Days aren't the only lovers of Asian films?

Seil 06-15-2010 03:33 PM

I got not clue. Got a hint?

The Sevenshot Kid 06-15-2010 10:56 PM

It's a French movie.

EDIT: And it feature parkour heavily.

Melfice 06-18-2010 11:27 AM

I know the answer, but I cheated looking it up.
So... I dunno. Would it still count as the right answer then?

krogothwolf 06-18-2010 11:29 AM

It wouldn't actually be that District 13 movie would it?

The Sevenshot Kid 06-18-2010 04:54 PM

Krogothwolf is right. I'd have to hand it to him on this one Melfice.

You know, I looked at that picture and thought it was but for some reason I could remember the scene and the actors face didn't click with me so I just figured meh, that can't be it. Guess I should have gone with my gut eh.

Shyria Dracnoir 06-18-2010 11:17 PM

Saving Private Ryan?

Seil 06-18-2010 11:38 PM

For some reason, I read that as "Saving Meg Ryan."
