Also, did anyone else find the final Ihan Crystal mission completely balls to the walls awesome? Maybe it's just because I'm naturally a defensive player, or it might be the sheer awesomeness of all the protoss banding together, and having all those heroes at your disposal. Regardless, that's been one of my favorite missions so far.

Yeah, I was really impressed with the variety of mission styles and play mechanics they worked in. It really kept it from getting stale and really helped the narrative along.

Right so i just beat the game, and I just found out about the secret mission you unlock in the Media Blitz mission. I also found out that going back into the archives to try and unlock the mission won't let you play it if you've beaten the game. Now I'm gonna have to start a new campaign in order to play it. Goddammit Blizzard.

The upgrading/researching between battles is fun, adds a new element to game for fun units. I do wonder why the only have a few units being able to move and fire at the same time. It's really dull to see units line up and pound on each other.

So I'm going to completely fuck up this thread (sorry) by asking (since it's SORTA been brought up already) if there's any (again, really sorry) difference between a Dual Core 2.4GHz Processor (which is in their "recommended hardware specs) and my Intel Core Duo2 2.5GHz Processor....
My video card, an ATI Radeon 5450 is theoretically within range of their recommended specs, as is my 4GB of memory, but I have the graphics cranked RIGHT down, till it looks like poop, and I'm still getting some serious frame rate reductions when there's a lot of shit going on. So I can only assume that maybe my processor isn't pulling it's weight?
Any hardcore techies out there wanna help a player groove?

Or maybe my video card isn't working right? Bah! I hate new computers!

edit: I know it's probably asking a lot, but thanks anyways :D
Also, is anyone else as psyched for the Zerg drop as me? eh? bitchesamirite?

Your specs seem pretty okay Torque, and your processor does indeed have 2 cores. The only thing that immediately comes to mind is to make sure you have the latest ATI video drivers for your card.

If it's any consolation, my buddy has experienced occasional slowdown in singleplayer on his $3000 PC.

Marine/Marauder are pretty rough as it is.

One of the most basic "micro" tricks in the game is alternating move and stop commands to scoot 'n shoot. You use it against short range/melee units and to improve firing participation when your ranged army gets big. FWM on all units would eliminate that gameplay and make zealots total crap against terran.

The mission that gave me slowdown was the last crystal mission. Interceptors!

krogothwolf 07-30-2010 01:41 AM

Yes well, it bugs me that Blizzard seems to think most units need to stop to shoot. Even with scoot'n'shoot it's just silly to have to do that. I like being able to do maneuvers while shooting its fun.

Stupid close combat units making them have to have that stupid programing.

Hmm... but I'm having slow down on the absolute LOWEST settings :S
It's not even like I'm cranking the glitz to overkill and having a few frames drop off per second... I'm on Low for everything, and I definately have the latest ATI drivers... Damn... I have a conundrum on m'hands.

A siege tank being unable to run over a tiny zergling kinda annoys me. I thought the campaign was pretty eh, but that mind be because of all the consecutive hours of playing.

Torque 07-31-2010 05:52 PM

I am without a doubt 100% FURIOUS that they disabled the ability to unally your team mates... I just sat through a 3v5c game for the SOLE purpose of kicking the shit out of my teammates, and what do I see? I can't disable their ally status!! :S
Bah, there goes the fun right out of online... back to SC1 I go I guess.
