Version Exclusives.

Aaaaargh. I want too many things that are exclusive. I can just trade for the ninja snail. In fact, I have to no matter what, but I want the kamen rider and the ghost armor, dagnabbit!

I'm thinking I'm getting Black.
That big Garuda-ish bird Pokémon is just too awesome to pass up. A lot better than that vulture to boot!

That, and people have been calling that Garuda (Wargle) the awesome American eagle, for some reason.

I want White for that awesome Ground/Ghost robot.

Argh I know, man. But I also love the Dark/Steel Kamen Rider, and argh.

I guess I can get White, and just trade for the exclusives I want (the eagle and the Rider).

Okay so I was looking through the sprites of the new pokemon and I saw this really cool ice bear! It even had a beard! Made of ice! It was so cool and then I saw the unevolved form.

It has frozen snot coming out of its nose. It evolves and gets an "ice beard". Suddenly it's not so cool anymore. =/

some new moves and Abilities and such.

Stuff I think is cool:

Sacred Sword: Fighting move, 90 power, ignores all stat changes.
Trickery: Dark move, 95 power, increases in base power if the enemy has a higher Attack stat.

Slip Through: new Ability, you ignore Reflect and Light Screen
Mischevious Heart: non-attack moves have priority. Only exists on two of the Legendary Genies, but come on: Priority Tailwind would be awesome in Doubles/Triples
Eccentric: New ability. You Transform into the enemy when you enter battle. New Ditto Ability?

Ugh. I had to help me mam a bit while she's tried to play SoulSilver. I shouldn't have looked through this thread. I see talk of EV/IV/whateverV, breeding -starters- to get moves I've never heard of and the right balance of stats otherwise IT'S ALL WORTHLESS, recatching Pokemon over and over again to get the right "nature" (what?), and somehow having stuff like Golem and Alakazam before Whitney. Bah. (How do you trade with a DS, anyway?)

She's got a team of level23-25 Quilava, Onix, Weepinbell, and Gastly. And is stuck at a, er, level 31 Poliwrath in the 5th gym? Yeah. My head hurts looking at all this complex stuff I never knew about 10 years ago. :ohdear:


I caught a Magikarp when she wasn't looking and am Pokewalking it some levels though... evolves at 20 right? :(


EDIT: Before anyone raises an eyebrow, she's got motor neurone disease and I stay at home now to look after her. But getting her a DS was a bad idea! >.>

10 years ago, natures/EVs didn't exist, although EVs replaced a similar mechanism, iirc. They aren't important to a basic run, though; it's mostly a competative thing.

And trading by DS basically requires a second DS with a DS Pokemon game. No cables or anything required. And yeah, Magikarp evolves at level 20. That's why it can be such a gamebreaker early on.
