According to lolwikipedia, basketball-like games existed at least fifty years prior to some dude nailing peach baskets to a gym wall in 1891, so, yeah, it is withing the realm of possibility that one could have played basketball in the years when the West was still wild. However, given that Chick Hearn wouldn't be born until 1916 and wouldn't invent the term "slam dunk" until later still, the matter of basketball being a thing that existed in the old West becomes irrelevant as to whether it makes any sense for Kit to say "slamdunk.jpg."

Kit should use more internet slang to encourage the youth of today to do historical research into exactly how anachronistic her words are.

My initial reaction to the "slamdunk.jpg" line was confusion, but then it made me stop to think, "are there computers in this world/setting?"

So, is this foreshadowing? Should we expect to see the internet later on?
I'm interested in finding out more about the world that this story is happening in. Maybe I'm caring too much about the setting? I'm not sure as to the tone of this story yet, so I'm not sure if the world warrants caring about.
