loyal reader since 04 :D |
WWWWWWAAAAAAAYYYY Back in the day...
NPF was part of Top Web Comics. I was looking for Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger stuff. I stumbled upon Nuklear Power and saw a weird little Black Mage and a stupid Fighter talking in a forest. And I was like... O_o? So I read a little and liked the comic. Then I saw the HUGE forum space. I found Captain SNES, Clanbob, and NPF that way before... THE GREAT DIVIDE! Seriously, I've come to like the forums more than the comic but I still read on occasions. :) |
On newgrounds there was this flash animation based on a web comic which was also based on characters from final fantasy I...
it's been 4 years now since I began reading it. |
I remember watching 8-Bit D&D on Newgrounds several years ago for the first time. Then I discovered 8-Bit Theatre. They were on the same list of final fantasy flash videos that were among the most popular or something like that. I think one of my friends had shown me the 8-Bit flashes, several years ago. After that one of us discovered the site and told the other.
It's been awhile. I'm sure one of my friend's probably discovered the flash videos first and that's how I came to know about them. I don't regret it since the comic and flash episodes are entertaining and funny. |
Several years ago I got stumbled upon this website randomly and I clicked on latest comic and I saw some red mage trying to stab somebody in the neck with a piece of furniture.
The sheer epicness of that event hooked me. |
Not sure if my post was still here, but a friend showed me he found "Ogre Catapult" somewhere and redirected it to me.
To be honest, nostalgia has really hit me after strip... is it 1000 yet? I miss the old days of the highly-pixelated images of pixelated images and the one-liners that were plain horrib-- I mean creatively interpreted. "You HP or your GP!" -=PakoPako=- |
I am browing through the TV-tropes-wiki regulary, and they often mentioned 8-bit-theater. So, I like sprite comics, I like Final Fantasy, and I'm open to everything.
Of course, I had to read this. And, men, WAS I amazed!^^ Exspecially the..well... interesting realationship between BM and WM got me stuck. XD (In the beginning, I was completly with White, because her hatred for BM's methods of fliting is completly reasonable, but I am more and more hopeing that he manages to win her heart... somehow XD) I also love the in-depth, all the characters have. And Black Belt's monolouge when he died made me pretty sad. OK, I better stop talking now, because I talk to much! ^^; |
Well, I had gotten into the manga Naruto, and I was reading it online on Naruto Manga Returns at msn groups, and when I had read through the archives I started looking at other stuff in the group, and I came across a sprite comic. One of the episodes of that sprite comic attributed its inspiration to something called "8-Bit Theater". Out of curiousity, I clicked on the link it had, and it brought me here. I remember that the newest comic was the one where RM brought the group to a tavern. I went to the first comic, and over the next few days I read through the entire archives. I haven't stopped reading since. :p

I saw the chocobo song that had an homage to 8-bit in the beginning. Didn't think much of it.
I continued to do what I do normally for a year or two and then my wife and brother in law were talking about funny comics so I decided to read it... realized what it was and have read it ever since. |
'twas a while ago when I was really interested in web comics and such, and some Rockman sprite comics had me really laughing and such. :gonk:
Somehow I stumbled across nuklearpower.com and it has been the only on-going story I've kept on reading, despite some lows. Probably been around since the very early days, but more of a simple reader than a forum poster (hence why I signed up so damn late ) |
