Only upon visibility. They are still behind buildings as it is. Also I can tell you that 2 of the 3 are exactly the same as the group your fighting. The custom one will have a PM sent out once it is in sight.

Edit: Apologies on the delay. There's a fairly integral part of this post that I'm trying to work out and its stubborn in that regard.
