Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars
Tatsunoko vs Capcom: UAS nears its English language debut, and since I think a few people here will be interested, and I don't see a thread already, here we go!
TvC: UAS is the English version of TvC: Cross Generation of Heroes, which I know one or two of you have played. But this isn't just a localisation. UAS comes with additional characters, character tweaks, music, a new stage and most importantly, an online mode which the Japanese release lacked. Who's in this, you ask? Well, wonder no more: Capcom Ryu Chun Li Alex Megaman PTX Frank West Viewtiful Joe Morrigan Batsu Soki Roll Saki Zero Yami (unplayable final boss) Tatsunoko Ken the Eagle Jun the Swan Joe the Condor Yatterman-1 Yatterman-2 Tekkaman Tekkaman Blade Polymar Ippatsuman Karas Doronjo Casshan (Not the SINS version sadly) Gold Lightan And that's everyone! But what does this play like? Well if you've never played a Vs game before, think fanservice, crazy combos, big flashy supers, 2v2 tag team action and a game which anyone can quickly get into, mash buttons and have a blast, but with some depth for the hardcore players. TvC features lots of system mechanics to get to grips with, from tagging, Mega Crashing (Think GG-esque Bursts), Baroque (Again, think GG-esque Roman Cancelling), snapbacks and more, so if you want to there's stuff to learn. For the single-player minded, this game comes with several minigames themed around a character, from PTX's shooter minigame to mindless button mashers. Playing the game earns Vs points, which are used to unlock characters, concept art and more. Obviously there's the usuall compliment of fighting game mode as well. Online wise, sadly friend codes are present. However, the game tries to put you into one of 3 "styles" depending on how you play, and you can search for players with similar or different playstyles to you. Hopefully the netcode is acceptable. This hits America on the 26th and PAL territories on the 29th. English official site. SRK.com board for the game. Features changelists, strategies, videos and more info on the characters. |
I'm ready to jump head first into this one with the rage of a thousand suns
Maybe Karas is still Broken in this Version? If he is, it will be soooooo much fun. This is a good arcade game. Not anything Ground Breaking, but it has the same spirit that made the Crossover VS Series a success. |
Snake! You've created a time paradox!
If I make Megaman and Casshan fight each other will it create a time paradox?
|
What's funny is I'm 99% in it for the Capcom, but Casshern is the one character I'm actually interested in.

If you're using the Wiimote the game uses an easier input method, similar to Smash Bros. One button for normals, one button for specials, press them both for a super and another button to tag. There is also a Madcatz stick being released for this, which is pretty much the SF4 SE stick only for the Wii. It's either bundled with the game or you can buy it standalone eventually for about $80. |
The commercial pretty much sold me on the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtZ4f...layer_embedded

Preordered my copy, gonna go nab it pretty soon, review like a week or two thereafter. Super pumped though.
And Zero is in it. Mega Man X era Zero! |
Impressions of the Madcatz stick for this game are appearing, and it seems as if Madcatz did a better job on it than on the SF 4 SE stick, which the TvC stick resembles. Too bad it's so goddamn expensive. 1UP have done or are doing a Game Night with the US version too, so look out for that.

Got it yesterday! Been toying with it for the best part of today and yesterday too.
The game is loads more balanced. Gone is the Awesome animated Intro and the Animated endings, some songs seem to be Gone too (where's Karas Song?) and just the Generic ones seem to be around... also, i might be mistaken but it seems that the songs are tied to the stages this time around instead of the character you're currently playing like in the JP version... Don't know why they changed that... it was awesome.... Gone are all the minigames of the japanese version and in it's place there is a single (so far, don't know if you can unlock more) Shooting minigame for 4 people, looks fun, a tad unrully to control though... Game is trully more balanced and even. Characters are overall less cheap. But you can still keep a infinite winning streak on Survival with PTX (Although it's special attack is less massive this time) Overall, more improvements than losses. Still can't unlock any of the new characters though |
They changed the songs because of licencing issues, I think.
