Your avatar. Why?
 

I figured since we had a thread for our handles again, it might be about time for another round of avatar explanations.


Normally, my avatar is some form of myself in sprite form, with whatever background stuff means something to me at the time. This has deviated only three times now, twice with sprites of my other characters.

Just a leaping sprite of Toshi with a crappy attempt at anime-style speed lines in the background. The reason for this is that a mysterious user named synkr0nized on a forum that never was threatened to give everyone furry avatars if the necessary power was ripped from the hands of the very admins acquired. I mistook this for "let's all have fun and get furry avatars before this place evaporates into the aether" and decided to show off the sprite, which I'd spent a lot of time doing, but had never been able to use for anything.

So what are your own stories?

It's half of a cookie given to me by fifthfiend. This made me so happy, I couldn't even handle all the happiness. So I decided to share it and gave half of it to CABAL.

Usually my avatars are Berserk themed, sometimes I have Godhead Pickle Inspector or Rick Dagless, I used that in that place we're not allowed to speak about because it never existed.
But I still use that half cookie because it's still good. What other user can claim he has a half avatar? Right, only one besides me.

Generally my avatars are chosen based on what makes me laugh. Being Metal Gear related is a bonus.


Currently the Ocelot unit is something I particularly like because in the Metal Gear paintchat I go to/kind of sort of help moderate (I kick trolls) I'm occasionally greeted with "MAaaajor~ <3" which makes me laugh.

I'm thinking I need something different though...

One day I decided I wanted to make a pixel-art thing of Loyal in the style of one of Mauve's older avatars. I liked it, and it stuck.

It's LEGO, which I like.
It's Atomic Robo, which I also like.

That's it.

Can't remember, but I think you guys found it. Or it was posted in a webcomics thread or something, and I pinched a part from it, or whatever.



If only people were still spewing ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL everywhere, I've got an itch for the Collector General.
